Thanks for the responses!
I usually have a little BF, but only around 9 to 15 or so. That's easy to fix. Don't usually have any wounds when I'm crafting, but again, easy to monitor and fix.
Now for something that seems to have made a difference. I changed crafting tools. I had bought four 15.00 crafting tools quite a while ago. Two I used and two got put away. When I got the two "reserve" tools out and started using them, the failure rate dropped right down to where it had been.
Crafting tools don't show depreciation like armor or weapons. There is no "975/1000" indicator. I guess when they start wearing out, they just don't work well any longer! Or maybe my changing tools was simply a coincidence?
Curious, because I've noticed an increase in failure rates during assembly/experimentation, too. One day in particular, a couple of weeks ago, it was so bad I logged out and didn't bother logging back in for a day or two.
I then proceeded to notice how often I suddenly got good or moderate successes, whereas before they were relatively rare. I sort of pinpointed it to one particular tool I was using. I've had my tools for awhile, and I've noticed when I die after getting ganked by kusacks near my factory (grrrr....) that crafting tools DO decay. But, aside from dying, we can't see their condition. One was particularly low last time I died - it was 47% condition. Maybe that has some unseen affect on crafting? The tools' effectiveness are 14.97 and I craft in a Research Center city. I was using my droid as a crafting station.
I proceeded to find what seemed to me to be the tool that was failing more often during experimentation/assembly. I then promptly deleted the tool and made a replacement, and my crafting seems to be back to the way it was, ever since I ditched that one tool.
So, I'm wondering if the tool's condition does play a part in this, too. Some of it (in my opinion) is just luck upon logging in (hence relogging sometimes fixes it, in case you get nothing but failures). I think that a tool's condition has some mysterious affect on success, though.

It is frustrating to say the least that I fail on all my experimentations. It's the equivelant of a crit failure in my mind, cuz it's a wasted component.

I've been doing really good on actual assembly rating, but as far as experimentation goes, yea, it's rare for me to get a good experiment result. When I'm crafting my med droids, it's made a difference between a 100 or a 110 rating. I haven't noticed anything else, except for the droid batteries, where I can get up to 3 batteries per assembly if I get good experimentation.

I think he is refering to his stacking results.

Are you making level 6 med modules? You should always end up with a 110 rating no matter the resources or the experimentation.
