Thread: Oh my god! 20k shipwright xp for lvl1 skills and we still have 48k!?

Ok this is me at boiling point now....we need to get 48k xp to get level one boxes and have to endure MSE's for ages before we are blessed with better blueprints....and shipwright.....only needs 20k XP for level one boxes...please someone explain why the hell they have done this? Surely it should be the other way around

What's the max exp gain they get for their highest crafted item at novice?


Asking because that could make a huge difference.

A lot. A ship craftable at novice requires 2k of steel, 1k aluminum, 1k low-grade ore, 1k inert petrochemical (total of 5k) and grants 1,312xp. The tier one that you get takes 7k steel, 4k low-grade ore, 2k inert petrochem, 2k aluminum (15k total) and generates 3,937xp. Now assuming that you only craft these and don't start with the tier 2 once you get them you would use 6.75 million units of resources (3 mil steel, 2.25 mil ore, 750k inert petrochemical, 750k aluminum) crafting a total of 398 starships (16 novice, 382 tier one). This is all assuming practice mode, but the point is still made.

The biggest ships take 150k resources to make.70k steel, 10k Siliclatc Ore, 20k Ore, 10k Iron, 10k Inert chem, 10 plast, 10k aluminum, 10k Copper. You get 37,500xp from it, which is .25xp per resource.


The next ship down grants20k XP at .25 per, using 80k resources.

Cripes! That is a lot of resources....I see a major crunch in resource availability coming. And, man are those ships gonna cost. Anyone with loads of resources, however, should be able to master fairly quickly at those xp values.

To put it into persective for people.....


A BER 12 Harvester on a 83% spot will produce 14400 resources per day. 10 Harvesters will produe 144,000 Resources per day.

At this rate, it would take



  • 46.9 days to gather all of the resources needed to Master Shipwight.

  • 5.9days to gather all of the resources needed to Master Architect

  • 4.5 days to gather all of the resources needed to Master DE.

Are you sure those #'s are right? Its taken me forever to get the SW resources... ALLOT more than 5 days and im using 10 BER 10 harvesters. and im putting them around 80% concentrations.

14,400 * 10 = 144,000, not 1.44 million





You need to multiply that by 10 again to account for 10 harvestors. So 1.44 mil is correct.

That was what the 10 was for. Trust me, 10 BER 12 harvesters on an 83% spot does NOT get you over a million resources in a day.
