Would you go so far out of your way to sell a droid to actually loose money?
I would I had a customer, infact a good customer, ask me for a DZ70 with a Armor/Clothing Station and 10 Item storage. I say sure I can whip that up in a jiffy, he then told me what color he wanted it in sure no problem. I say it is done where can I meet at? He is running missions on Endor and not ready to fly to another planet. He then asks me if I will be on for a while. It was still early by me so I say sure.
I end up restocking my vendor on Tatooine then fly to Cornet, forgetting that Endor is connected to Naboo. Not a problem Endor is still connected to Cornet. But 4500 credits for a trip to Endor, wow I told him the DZ70 was only 2k credits. I stand to loose a couple of thousand credits for having good customer relations. I buy the ticket anyways.
As I am standing at the Mission Terminals anotherperson asks about a few droids. So i give him my best speil about all the modules, finally my original Customer shows up, he was a quick easy trade as I was still talking with the other person. And Finally heready to make a purchase. So what turns out to be a bad bussines descision turned out to be profitable for me.
So what about you, would you go to an other planet to sell a droid that doesn't cost as much as the ticket to get there?

Yep..and it pays off in the end.
I have the utter misfortune to be living on Lok just now, and no shuttle too, but for some reason I have a loyal customer base on Dantooine..and the reason? Well at least part of it is willingness to deliver.
Service always matters..always. You reap what you sow as someone biblical once said, and thats where me and the vendor sales people disagree..its all about customer contact...at least it is for me.

I did...and it led to a LOT of additional repeat business down the line. Custom droid frames for a home decoration business. He picked up like 30 or 40 chassis in the long haul.

deliveries are definately a good way to build up a good reputation and good customer relations. I know I've lost money before on starport fees, but half the time I'll get there and they'll tip me an extra 10k because I went all the way out to meet them, and just about every time the person comes back to buy at least one or two more droids.
