a +12 scout droid is like, about as crappy as you can get. Sadly the one module by itself is virtually useless.. stacking 6 of them however and it can get a heck of a lot more then you IF You have novice scout only. It is NOT a bonus to you, it is the level of the droid on its own.
actually, its some kind of relational effect between you and the droid. A novice scout with a +100 droid doesn't harvest asmuch as a master ranger with a +100 droid, but the novice scout does get a better bonus since the droid is so much higher than the scouts skill. I don't have exact numbers, but I've seen some tests that are showing this to be the case.
As for which combat droid is the best, in a one on one duel the R3 would be the way to go. Look for something with as close to 4500 HAM and 600 combat rating as you can get, thats the max for R3's.
Comparing a legit fullbore R3 to a bugged BE'd non-CH pet is like comparing a standard weapon to a double sliced weapon.
Sure the illegal tool performs better, if you have no conscience about cheating.
If you thought I was hot on the combat droids before, the new breed are above and beyond what I'd hoped to see.
With an R3, a Faction trooper, and a pair of Creature pets, I've got an awesome arsenal at my disposal.

I think the droid would have a decent chance at taking it. The creatues kinetic resists mean jack and that damage rating is pretty low... If anyone runs this test let me know the results.
Has anyone verified if a non-CH can call both a BE-pet and a droid at the same time? If so, this whole thread is pointless.Just get one of each for a double-wammy!
In any case, the test is flawed. Try a pet with a resist that matches the droids damage. My first guess would be that droids do energy damage, as that seems to be the default for ranged. Try a NonCH BE pet with special energy resists, and re-test.
