Thread: Does the quality of the composite armor segment affect the L6 droid armor module?
Nope.
What's funny is that I used to think Level 6 was a pain to make, but it's really not that bad. A regular composite segment only takes up 18 steel (something like 8 metal, 10 steel, doesn't matter, I always use 18 steel). So 1K segments is only 18K steel - I get a schematic and run them off myself in a spare wearables deed I keep around.
There is so much confusion about armor that I just slap a Level 6 in every droid I make, even the entertainer ones. It makes me feel better - hopefully I'm "future proofing" them in case they every straighten armor out, and the resources are pretty low (as long as you have durraloy for the actual segment). I also find it a way to keep track of how many droids I sell - I got tired of actually recording each sale six months into the game, but it's nice to know aproximately how many droids I've sold based on how many crates of armor I go through in a week.
