Thread: C3-PO, talk to the Falcon! I need to know what's been damaged!

Since Protocol droids are suppose to be translators, it seems we should be able to call one out in a multiplayer ship, group it, and have it communicate with the ship's computers and systems and give the players real-time damage reports via Spatial Chat. Would be even better if it would play actual spoken audio through the speakers. Just have it play a canned voice clip saying something like, "The Weapons Capacitor has been damaged!". Of course the occassional "We're all gonna die!" along with some panic emote animations when lots of systems are damaged would be a hoot too.

Any of you guys care to suggest triggered canned audio for a Protocol droid onboard a mutliplayer ship?
Here's a few I can think of:
* Plasma Leak - Droid screams, "Help! I'm melting! This is all your fault!"
* Someone uses the /kiss emote onboard the ship - Droid exclaims, "Sir! Sir! I've isolated the Reverse Power Coupling!"
* Ship enters an asteroid field - Droid panics and screams, "Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1!"
* Ship exits combat - Droid exclaims, "I never doubted you for a second! Wonderful!"
* Droid is called out on board the ship and assigned to give damage reports - Droid says, "Sir, I don't know where your ship learned to communicate, but it has the most peculiar dialect."
In short, he's there to be an annoying little bugger in addition to give you damage reports.

That would indeed be cool - but I think there would definately need to be a 'mute protocol droid' program in all the pilot trees as well! :-)

Haha! Yeah. But the mute command is already implemented. It's called "store".

Droids should supply small bonuses to repair efforts on mulitplayer ships and provide audible alerts. That would be so cool.

Oh my god, that's a great idea. It could also give some fun purpose for the personality chips

"You'requite the Ace pilot, aren't you? The shields are completely destroyed. I don't know, maybe you'd like to move out of the way when the other ship is shooting at you? Just a suggestion. If you can think of something better, let me know."

perhaps could a treadwell could be used to grant a large bonus to repairs and fix plasma leaks.

I made my first humanoid droid tonight, and I put a sarcastic chip in him. He didn't say anything sarcastic tho!
My stupid droid chip in the surgical droid sounded stupid "Duh, want me to do something? Okie dokey!"

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed. I made my LE crafting droid with a sarcastic personality chip, but it only ever says anything when I use the radial menu. It'd be spiffy if when I had it out, it would randomly insult passsers-by or something.
