odd, the title for 0/0/0/4 rebel pilot is "droid commander" Is this implying that droid commander may not be the name of DC when its imlemented?

How does one become 0004 in pilot? You can't advance to the next tier until you finish the entire row.

He probably means the title that the 4th tree grants you - it would probably have been better displayed thus:

The actual name of the "droid commander" profession isn't as important as the profession itself. I prefer Droid Tactician myself.
We need new and cool combat droids in this came and DC or DT or whatever is the only way we'll get them.

Ithink its high time we sent an ultimatum or a request to the devs asking them to reopen Advanced combat droid discussion. I understand that "DC" is the developers already chosen solution, however if an aptly fomulated request is composed, we might be able to convince them to reason with a new concept. Right now its DC or bust, the developers arent the ones suffering its our misfortune. But DC is just such a bloody horrible idea.... its impossible for me to support without feeling likestrangelinga kittin. Its a shame that the ones who brought us the intricasies of this game are to unreasonable to hash out a good idea to bring us combat droids.

I couldn't agree more, Digitalone. Making a new class for the sake of bringing in better combat droids is a bad idea. What will the title "Droid Engineer" become then? "Semi-Droid Engineer"? "I Can Make The Crappy Old Droids But Not The Cool New Droids Engineer"? Maybe DE and the new class are the only ones who can USE the new droids, but bringing in new droids that aren't made by a Droid ENGINEER!!! is just, well, DUMB.

I don't see a change that a new droid-using profession would take away from our droid-crafting profession. When a new rifle is added, do the riflemen have to make it? No. The new item is still made by weaponsmiths.
If anything, maybe the new profession would have some subcomponent schematics (like dual wave synthesizers from musician). But DE will still make the finished products.

If DC was implemented, DEs would get to make new and cool high end combat droids. DCs would have to purchase all their droids from DEs. No one has proposed what you just suggested.

I agree that DC sucks, but it's the only way we'll get new combat droids in the game.I also agree with your frustration. However realistically we are wasting our time in debating this issue when the devs have basically already stated the limits for implemenation, namely, no DC, no new combat droids. I think we should focus on getting new combat droids in the game. DC is the only way.
