Thread: Medical Droid for Combat situation can it be made?

As a Master Doc I've found my Medical Droid useful for increasing wound healing in the field and have heard that it will increase my heals too. Unfortunately, my droid is fitted with crafting stations and storage...


Is it possible for a DE to make a top rated medical droid that can take some punishment in a fight so I can benefit from the increased heals. I'm a purely Combat Master Doc and I like to solo faction missions, and lairs for hides when my Architect needs them. I don't want my droid getting blown up every day though


Any chance that you knowledgeable guys can come up with a design for a "Combat Med Droid" please?

Yes its possible. Advanced R3 would be best. So many options we can do. Can be loaded with up to 6 modules. So say 1 may be 1 medical 6 module, 4 combat modules and two auto repair modules., with armor 6.

Yeah... you just gotta wait for the new update to go live so we can make Lvl 5 und 6 armour again.

Medical Module 110 + Stimpack dispenser

Would the droid's stimpacks heal more than usual ?

It didn't in the past, pre-CU, and I've not seen anything so far that would indicate that this has, or will, change/d.

Stimpack dispenser was really killed in the CU. I was using an R3 with several stimpack dispender modules before CU, was a great thing to have along for unbuffed fighting. In CU i tried to use it two times, but the way it handles at the moment simply doesn't help enough.


So my personal design would be similar to the one suggested above, but i'd use one medical module, one combat module and put the rest into auto-repair.(Based on the info, that auto-repair is working again on TC.) In case you have inventory problems, go with 3 auto-repair modules only and put a storage module, too.


One combat module is enough to make the droid stay nearby when attacked instead of running away, auto-repair allows it to stay in working shape. (Of course, armour also should be packed on the droid, in case is starts working again...)



Edit: Anyways, i still wish there'd be an alternative to the R3... any other chasis with 6 modules would just be awesome to get some variety into droids...

Yeah, I'm looking for something similar. I don't want the droid to fight. I just want it to tank damage, but have a med chip. What am I looking at? In droid 101:

# Q. What is the best Tank Droid?

to 3200 HAM, heals faster, and should only do 1 point of damage per attack.
An Adv R3, with 5 Auto-Repair Module and 1 Combat Module has up to 4500 HAM,

5 auto repair and one Med6 module would result in the droid heading for the hills at high speed in a combat situation. In short it would run away.


So, as said above, at least 1 combat module is required in order to prevent this unhappy occurance.


1 Med6, 4 Auto repair and 1 Combat module would be best IMO, with Armour6 (just in case it ever works)

I have noticed that the modern R-3 droid with a combat module likes to go for melee, ideal if you are a pikeman/doc, but it you prefer a ranged weapon, you might want to look at probots, as any R-series droid will most likely charge into the thick of things, and leave you behind.

ok... so just to get this straight cause i wanna get one....

an r3 with what modules would be best for staying alive and close... with 110 med efficecy so i can ask a sunrunner DE to make me one... would that be 1 med, 4 repiar, 1 combat, 1 armor?
