Thread: Question about droid armor
A level 6 armor module will be the same if you use a super segment or a crappy one.
Just like virtually all of our products.
The only things that benefit from experimentation are a few modules (harvest, combat, bomb, etc.), droid HAM, and repair kits.
A leveled module or armor can be experimented upon for the chance to make it a higher level, but this usually isn't worth the materials you'd have to use. You can use grind materials in any level 6 module or armor and you will never get anything better - a level 6 module's base is the maximum attribute.

It looks like droid armor now requires battle armor segments from armorsmiths. My question is this:
What contribution to the actual armor value of the droid does the battle armor segments make? Is it quality dependent? I believe those segments can contain different protection layers. Do those layers make a difference in a droid?
Thanks in advance
From what I've experienced since pub 17.........save your segments. My R3 I made with level 4 plates has just as much health (2745) as ones I've made with level 6 plates.
Obviously this is not "working as intended" and may be fixed sometime before the new millenia
.
The Armor on Droids, like the Armor on pets, is still out to lunch.
All Droids, regardless of how many Level X Armor Modules are being installed, have a Defense Value of 0, listed in the datapad. I've tried using a droid with 2 Level 6 Modules and 0 modules installed. Both Droids took the same base line damage, from the same mob type.
Even though we can now craft Level 5 and 6 Armor, it is still not being figured into the droid crafting. Even when it is figured in, I'll put credits on the Battle Segments not having any effect on the final product.
crap, ok, thanks for the reply guys. I managed to find a nice armorsmith who made me a schematic to make some segments. I'm running them as we speak. I guess I'll save em until this is fixed however.
