Thread: Publisj 17 bomb droid tests
R3 driod with 55 det power did about 2000 damge to 76
Mse did 1000 damage to a lvl 26
R3 did 2000 to a lvl 26
all came out with those numbers
Point is if someone is wearing armor that absorbs 45-49% damage...well thats is a 49% reduction out of the 2000 damage.

I think PVP only has a 30% reduction now, not 75%.
We will see how this works out, they wont incap an 80, but they may hurt.

As listed above, the detonation droid damage is only listing as one damage type. I'm not sure that they are fully working as intended, since the Heat damage should be showing up as a seperate damage listing. The following damage listings are from a duel between Drashka (Level 80) and Waxo (Level 70). I tried grouping with the droid and having my target remove his armor. Neither changed the damage range by a noticable degree.
Waxo was caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 489.
Waxo was caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 599.
Waxo was caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 558.
Waxo was caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 543.
All 4 droids were a 19 rated MSE, with 1 module installed.
The following are the damage listings for the same droid against a Level 80 male plains tusk cat.
a male plains tusk cat is caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for594 damage.
a male plains tusk cat is caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 771 damage.
a male plains tusk cat is caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for 717 damage.
a male plains tusk cat is caught in the blast of your exploding droid and hit for945 damage.
I know that this isn't much to base info on, but going to guess that the base damage is between 30 and 50 points per damage and has a damage reduction of 25 - 35%.
* Test Vehicle: A 58 rated detonation R3 *
* Test Executor: A level 80 bounty hunter *
Test Subject #1: A CL24 creature (i dunno what it was, but it was one of those giraffe looking things) surrounded by two CL 22 members of its family
- CL 24 took 2222 Kinetic damage, no mention of Heat; others around it took 1213 and 1718
Test Subject #2: A CL77 butterfly warrior...thing
- CL 77 took 2417 Kinetic damage, again no mention of Heat
Test Subject #3: Me, a CL 54 wookiee with 2200 health and no armor
- I took 1542 Kinetic damage, no mention of Heat
So the 30% reduction for PvP definitely sounds accurate. I would say at this point that it seems to average approximately 37-43 damage per Detonation Rating. And this also seems to confirm that the level of the opponent doesn't factor in the damage.
So with preliminary reports, it might also be safe to assume a simple forumula to go by for the time being: (det power) * 35 or 40 = Blast damage

Just did some testing with a bh and my jedi.
The bomb droids are my own 59pwr R3 (which i made look like newb droids /evilgrin)
The bh is a 3000inv bh with mfencer. cl 69
Jedi is mls/mdefender (completed temp) cl80
First test was as normal, no kds etc bomb hit the jedi for 1574pts of dmg
Second test the bh used armour break then used the R3 on me, it hit for 2057pts of dmg!
Looks like armour break may have an effect as my jedi has innate armour... further testing will be done
So it seems the actual range is 20 to 50 times the rating.
