Yet again, we see that TC-Prime is taken out of service and a live server is copied in order to test publishes. How can they expect to build a consistent TC population if it's taken out of service every 2 weeks?

I've got friends who play on live servers. I used to be able to play both characters, but I find that ever since they started this when JTL came out that I can't dedicate seperate testing time andtime for playingwith my friends because most of the time it's out of service with another database copy. So this begs the question, why can't I get my friends to move to TC-Prime?

They don't want to deal with the bugs (I'm a much more patient person than most of them)

They want to play when they can play and not deal with the downtimes.

I can understand their perspective. I like testing because I'm a Systems Analyst, but I honestly can't do it under these conditions as my free time. Why am I posting this here and not in the TC forum? Because I feel I let you guys down as a community when I'm not able to test things like what came down the line yesterday because I can't use prepared parts.

Thats how I feel as well. Everyone that that 'knows' me, knows that I am have always beendownfor running tests on different aspects of this profession. I've been setting up Droid Mecca with tons of parts, and resources, in order to test out any thing droid related that may come up. I knew that something was in the works for droids,froma gut instinct. I was able to put in some testing time last night and put together a fairly detailed report, for only being a rough draft.

TC-Prime being mothballed not only hurts the community that forms on the server, but it also hurts professions like our own that requires tons of factory time and resources. Yes, the Live copies have their own DEs that can test and report on what they find, but how many from the have the dedication and time to do what needs to be done?

I agree totally, it's lame they keep doing it to you guys. If they say that they are going to keep doing this because they need a larger population, they need to just scratch TC and let you guys know which server that will be. Then the TC people can play on that server and get copied over. Well that isn't as good as them using TC the way it's suppossed to be but still.

I feel for you TC people...I do really!

Any chance that TC characters (only)can get a free transfer (as in copy not transfer) to whichever 'live copy' is active as a test base, complete with goods of course? That must be technically doable.

Perhaps our Corr could raise this one?
