Thread: Combat droid changes on TC
Droids crafted without either a combat module or armor module are level 1.
Droids with either combat or armor modules will now increase the level in 5 unit increments up to a maximum of 30.
Crafting a droid with combat modules will increase min damage, max damage, to-hit, and give the droid the ability to attack your current target. Combat modules will also add a bit of armor.
Crafting a droid with armor modules will increase its general protection armor value at a greater rate than combat modules, and will also increase the droid's defense value. Armor modules will not affect the droid's to-Hit or min and max damage attributes.
Players with older droid deeds and pcd's will be fixed retroactively.
Can't wait to see the stats.

One thing neat about this, if I understand this correctly, is that you'll be able to get CL 30 with 2 slots of armor and 4 slots of combat modules, meaning that in an R3 you'll have 2 slots left over, and in a probot you'll have 1. Great for a medical module, or storage, or a crafting station for crafters ![]()
Now... lets just hope that a level 30 is a level 30 is a level 30. None of this nonesense about sometimes it acts like a level 1 and only fights better if it's grouped with some l33t combat dude.

Not sure I'd be so quick to assume that. It may just be that overall level will jump by 5. No that 1 module = 5 levels. But I guess we'll see soon.

I think we should really push to get that "spitting" thing sorted out while this patch is on TC.
Straker_Atrella wrote:We should also see if we can get other Modules to be considered "combat modules." Auto Repair, Stimpack Dispenser, and Medical after the CU are really only useful in combat. Auto Repair should count as full combat, but the others should count as something. Maybe trapping? Not looknig a gift horse in the mouth, but while they are working this code..... get all the modules we use in combat added.
I'm on it.
I'll be on TC tonight (hopefully... still got lots of stuff to catch up on) and tomorrow testing this stuff out. focus thread will be going up shortly.

Ok, all TC DEs prepare to test
For the past week, I have been setting up a pretty considerable run of droid chassis'. I'm up to 150 R3s, 125 R2s, 200 R4s, and 200 Probots. I was holding off on Armor and Combat Modules, until after the chassis'were completed.
I was guessing that some kind of change was on the way, with the comments made about BE and DE crafted pets, so I was setting up a fairly hefty run of droids so that I could check out what was changed. Not to mention that I've had an increased demandfor droids, on TC, now that a few of the DEs in the community have departed.
I have a Master Armorsmith, on TC, so I will be checking to see if Battle Armor Segment quality matters, and if stacking 2 fully experimented Level 6 Droid Armor modules make a difference. I also have a Master CH and will see how a CL30 Droid stacks upto a CL30 pet.
Luckily, I was able to stock up on batteries and just started a huge run of Droid Repair Kit Ds, with 42 charges and 2.2k-ish power.
Hopefully, a few of the other Master DEs that are around TC can lend a hand in the testing, but if not, I'll do what I can.

Don't even joke about that. I've been getting things prepared for a week now, in anticipation of what I thought was coming next week.

If any DEs out there want to help out, just jump on TC and give Calous, Drashka, or Drakalous a /tell. I can't out right give tons of things outfor free, since TC is my main server and I need to support the factories, houses, vendors and harvesters, but I'll do what I can, and I am always open for trading goods and services.
Not only is the crafting of the droids going to need testing, but also the use of the droids will need testing as well.
Just have to wait til someone figures that out
Are these new/converted level 30 combat droids still usable by non-creature handlers (an absurb sounding question but not in SOE-think)? Or are there any other certs to using them now?
I love my level 18 probot and hope not to lose any of its firepower. I use it to hunt Jedi a lot. Those 80+ damage points per secondcan make a huge difference.
Anyone can use the droid, regardless of who has what level where. ![]()
BTW, I updated the issue thread with some semi complete info on my findings so far.
Must sleep now
