Thread: Whoot Armor Works
My droid was hit for 1065 points and the armor absorbed 4 points.
That would mean that with max armor modules installed gives a droid a .4% armor resist. ![]()
I was using a pre CU Probot with 2.9-3k ham, (2) level 4 armor modules, and (5) 85-95 rated combat modules.
How I found this out is that I was running around coronet trying pvp running around taking out stormtroopers. Well I got pulled away from comp right in front of starport. When I got back I was dead on the ground requesting clone activation. after I cloned I looked to see who did it to me I found my droids armor absorbed a astonishing 4 points of damage per 1065 received.
So in conclusion droid armor does work, the coding behind it is a few decimal places off. ![]()

Hmm
Methinks you are wasting your time (not to mention a L6 module) putting 2 L6 Armours in a Droid.
Likewise, using Layers in the Battle Armour segment makes no difference.
Just thought I'd mention it..pay no attention to me
.. go ahead, play your way.... disclaimers etc.....
Dang...
a .4% protection? I won't be placing these on any of my droids until the decimal point changes.

i would place them on all combat droids for the simple fact that when they do change the decimal, the change will be reroactive and change all existing droids armor. The only droid stat that i have seen that has not changed retroactivly is the HAM.
Yea I agree with that, I would still Armor them up. Then hopefully whne it starts working right, it will work.
The only way that any change may NOT be retroactive is if Droid Armor is actually variable depending on quality, all old Armor may get some cruddy stat. Either way, you are better putting the armor on then not, you can't add it later.

So far all the pre and post "pet" changes that I am aware of had retroactive changes to about everything but HAM. But i can only coment on the stuff that has changed since i have been DE which is about 9 months now.

boy, you sound awfully sure of that, I wish I had your confidence. There have been plenty of changes in the game that have not been retroactive. I think it's pretty much up to the whim and dillegence of whomever is working on it. Lets just hope that whomever is working on it is having a "good day" when he does, lol, otherwise no backward compatability.

Arthur, it's more about just knowing how droids work in the game. When a Droid is "done," what was used to make it is basically forgotten, if it has a 450 combat rating, that is all that matteres, the game doesn't know or keep track of if 4 modules were used to get that or 6.
It's the same thing with armor. The Droid has an Armor rating, the game doesn't care if that armor rating came from 2 level 4 modules or 2 level 6, or 1 level 6. It just has one armor rating. The cap on that Armor rating was very easy to hit, giving us 20% armor.
The problem isn't that the droids we're making don't have armor, we think they do. The problem is that we believe our max armor rating is being given some rediculous % amount of protection. If they change it later so that XX armor rating = 20% protection, then since all droids SHOULD have that armor rating, then armor on all existing droids SHOULD work.
The other guys can correct me if I am wrong, but this is how we think the droids work and how we believe they have worked in the past. It's not just faith, it's just following the way they work. This is also assuming that the CU didn't totally change the way information on droids is tracked.

Okay I'm a little puzzled by sometihng here (Okay I'm puzzled by many things in this game, but getting back to this thread...) and that is this: how are you determining how much damage the armor has absorbed? When I check my combat taball I see is how much damage I took, or how much my droid took. No mention of how much was stopped by armor. Is there a 'verbose' option that I missed turning on someplace? I'd like to run some tests myself on this but seemingly lack the statistics to do so.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear this up.
