Sorry guys, I went to do a search for this... but, yup, the engine seems busted. Anyways, I pulled a couple of empty memory chips from a crate yesterday, And Radialed the program option. They set up fine with my desired ship function...
But when I went to radial for the command to put it in my datapad, it wouldnt let me. Examine, Destroy, and Analyze came up. Analyze only acted as an exam button letting me review the properties and not storing it in my DP. I logged for the night and tried again this morning. Same thing happened.
Anyone know if I am missing a step or if there is a workaround?
Thanks

It doesn't work like that anymore. Choose the program option on your Flight Computer or Droid and the chipped programs will be listed there. When you burn them in they will be removed from your inventory.

Hmm, I tried this and it doesn't seem to work (the program does not show up on the program options on my droid). What am I doing wrong? Maybe I am just being dumb or something; can someone please explain to me, step by step, how to program an astromech droid?
Sorry for asking such a stupid question. I just started playing again after a long time and all this space stuff (and droids actually doing much) is new to me. And thanks to anyone who can help me, as I am very frustrated.

Do you have the skill the handle the level of program you are trying to insert?
When you program the droid, on the left hand side you should see all of your programs that you are currently cert'd for (these don't need to be chips, they are always available), and then any chipped programs you have in your inventory (that you can handle) at the end of the list. On the right hand side is the contnets of the Astromech or Flight Computer.
You just click a program name and use the arrows in the middle to transfer them across.

Don't call the droid to program it. Bring up the radial menu on the droid/flight compfrom your datapad and choose "Program". You should then see a window with all the available programs on the left and all the programs currently programmed into the droid/flight comp on the right (which will be none if you're working on a brand new droid/flight comp.) Double click the programs on the left to add them to the list on the right. Click "commit" and you'll get a confirmation window. Any programmed chips that you burn into your droid/flight comp will then be removed from your inventory.
