Thread: Number of Droids

I just read someone elses message and it kind of got me thinking. What's the reasoning behind Master DE's only being able to have the same number of droids on their datapad as everyone else? I am also a master CH and I get LOADS of pets that I can store - most of them a lot stronger than my droids are and I can call out upto three...why can't they do the same for Master DE? It's not like even with two droids out that we would pose that much of a danger - one because there is hardly any of us and two because the combat capability of a droid is not that good! I'm sure there must be a reason for it but it's beyond me - if we could pull two droids out that would make the power droids actually useful!

DE is a crafting profession, not a combat profession.

I would like to have 2 droids out, but the other crafting professions would feel out of loop (i assume) and ask to get them some bonuses as well, and there would be of course the "exploiter", imagine 24/7 powered spam bots, dual detonation BHs ....

I understand that we are not a combat profession - could it not be level capped like CH is? Maybe at 30 so we could have one combat droid out of some littler ones? Just a thought...

This would indicate that SoE do things logically whereas they have a 'unique' approach to the profs.


Personally I would approve of it, purely down to the fact that I could have a barker droid & do something useful like use a crafting droid on the move.

The logic here is the same as the fact we can't use droid abilities like healing and getting our robots to use special entertainer programs even though we are the ones who programmed the bots in the first place and know all about what makes them work.

I understand we may not be as effective in its use as the actual professions, but it is really odd that we can't use many of the features of the bots.


Guess DEs never need to debug these abilities after programming them into the droids.

Better to ask why they limited everyone to 5 droids, and item storage to 10 items each because it was unfair to give anyone more than an extra backpack's worth of space (the excuse made at the time). Then with JtL not only do they allow MP ships with 100 item storage, they remove the lot usage requirement. That's 200 itemsas close as the nearest starship terminalif you unpack 2 yachts (they have since stealth capped MP ships at 2 per player).


Jenden, I knowyou have bigger issues on our plate, but since their own logic got tanked by their subsequent actions, maybe the next time we revisit different chassis abilities with the Devs, we can use this logic to get a boost to Item storage in the BLL?
