Thread: Advertising droids is possible now?
I hit novice droid engineer last day.
I don't like grinding, so I'm searcing some idea for sellingdroids, in the present.
In the guide, Yak suggest that droid could be optimal advertising objects:
they can patrol a overcrowded city with your advertisingmessage while you do other, even at long distance
Beyond the problems with the limitations of names of the droids, which other problems are at the moment against this idea? I haven't seen advertising droids until now, maybe because I play in strange hours for the majority of players (I'm italian..)

Mainly the fact that, aside from sheer "look I have a droid!" factor, most players view droids as useless and a waste.
If the only problem is that the other players doesn't now this possibility, I suggest we must educate our customers 
If DE give to some droids a name like (AdvertisingDroidJohnForInfo) and make it to patrol Theed or Coronet,maybe other players can be aware of this possibility...

I use droids as advertisements quite regularly, generally named something like Tell-Jenden-For-Me. just have them patrol the area, it doesn't bring in hordes of business but it does bring in some. I also include this as a use for droids when customers ask what they are good for. I have sold quite a few binary load lifters as advertisements as they will stick out in a crowd. Its a bit harder with mouse droids since they're relatively small but once you get BP 1 DZ70's work well since they're head height.
On a side not, to give you some hope, it is possible to make it without grinding, I have sold just about ever droid and part I have made (with the exception of a few made for myself, a few I completely screwed up on, and a few for friends). It takes a while (I am now about 70k xp from master), but you end up with a much better knowledge of how droids work, a large customer base, good reputation, and money in the bank.

I was able to sell tons of Mouse droids, because it was early in the game and people thought it was cool to have them follow them around. Now? I seriously doubt you could sell more than 20 mouse droids through your climb.

I'm not the one that this was addressed to, but I'll answer it anyway, since I've avoided grinding as well. I only did about 200 mouse droids. I sold them buy just selling them over cost and making sure the bazaars in multiple cities were stocked. As I said, I only did about 200 mouse droids, after that I started making components for higher level droids. I built up quite an inventory of components to use in the future. Making components wasn't nearly as fast as actual droids, but at least I wasn't destroying everything I was making. I'm getting close to master, and to do my final push, I'll probably just crank out a lot of Chassises that will be ready for use in the future.
Also, if you want to sell your droids, don't overcharge. I know lots of people think they have to charge an arm and a leg for them, but you don't get many customers that way. Be reasonable and have good customer service and you'll be able to sell your droids.
