Thread: Power Hungry Droids
It's sad, but for right now, all of those questions are part of the "flavor" of owning a droid.
Ugh.
So will my droid keep recharging forever? Or will it eventually "fill up"? And how do I know it has accepted the charge other than the fact that it no longer says "LOW POWER"?
Just like a CH pet. It will eat it as long as you feed it. But there is no reason right now to use batteries. Faster, cheaper way is to store the droid and recall it. When it comes out, it is fully charged. (known bug) Just one battery should be sufficiant I would assume.
Along the same lines, what if I have my droid patrolling an area and he runs out of power and I'm not around? Will it store itself automatically? Or does it just stop dead and wait until I come back for it?
No it will not store itself automatically. It will continue to patrol, but just spam you saying its low on power.
Another question. Why does my droid get "stupid" every so often and forget to continue to follow me? It is following just fine, then suddenly and randomly (I believe) it stops dead in it's tracks. Usually by the time I notice, I'm at least 75m ahead of it. I have to turn around, go back about 15m (close to 60m away) and shout "TinCan follow" about 3 times. Then it comes straight to me and continues to follow.
This happenes to all droids and pets all the time. 2 Main reasons.
1server boundries. A lot of pets stop at server boundies and have to be spammed with follow me to cross it. (known bug)
2. Rough terrain. Though it may look flat, there might be a .01 micron raise that your droid or pet get stuck on, or rock, plant, building. etc. Happens all the time!
Now, one more question. I've noticed that if I go 1400m away from my droid, it stores itself automatically. Is that the range or is it time based and I just happen to be 1400m away at the moment it stored?
Not timed or range based. Droidsusually store,(though there have been reports of them actually staying in the world) if you zone (ie. shuttle, starship) sometimes turning red and attacking passerbys. (known bug) its a wish list item to get them to be more perminate in the world. Not auto store if you go to far away.
Okay, so I have a droid. I use it alot. It gives me the message "LOW POWER". I have a Droid Battery with 4 charges. I recharge my droid. I stick out my hand and wiggle my fingers and the droid is recharged. But I can do it again, and again, and again...........and so on and so forth and onward, Gee Wizz!

Thanks in advance for any and all answers.
