Well just my 2 cents guys.

I agree with this. Living things can die. Machines can be repaired.

Ok im sure this has been discussed before but since im new to this forum I want to get some peoples thoughts on this.

It seems to me life would be alot better for both DEs and CH if soe had permadeath for all. Ok lets think about this for a sec. First of all you would get repeat sales of bothcreatures and droids (namely probot). IMO i think people wouldntdepend on pets as much making the game more to the movies. As it stands right now it doesnt really matter if your pet gets incap or not so whats stopping you from feeding it to the wolves to save your skin. Secondly players have to clone so why do pets never have to but they keep on living. Another thought on permadeath to make the game more realistic would be to have the creatures get permadeath and make it so if the droid dies you could take it to a DE to have it repaired. Think about if a living creature dies its dead for good, but a droid is a bunch of electronics and metal and could be repaired to working order ( remember what happened to R2 D2 in the StarWars A New Hope). Well just my 2 cents guys.

There seems to be some logic to it. In the back of my mind though, I feel this wouldn't help the way you think it might. For one, even if both droids and creatures needed to be replaced on a constant basis, what factor would have people buying droids over pets given the lack of damage power in droids. Until there are some decent combat droids, I think creatures will always be more preferred. However, even adding more powerful combat droids isn't really a good answer either (don't get me wrong, I *really* want more combat droids). This is a big mess that SOE has gotten into and it may take some time for it to be balanced out....

Yeah i agree its a mess. I would guess at least 3/4 of the populaton has non CH pets. And if SOE starts nerfing them now it really going to make for some unhappy customers. I do have faith however that SOE knows there is a problem and someday will take actions to fix it. But lets face it there are still ALOT of major bugs in the game that need fixed which I think (or hope) that SOE fixes before they really start doing major changes to the professions. With that said I am holding my hopes up for a class fix when they release the expansion.
