Heya, all...

Ready?

First off: Check this thread below...

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=jedi&message.id=253961

Now, that you're amazed and going "OOOOOHHHHHHHHH".................

Entertainer "Soundtrack Control Module":

When a player selects to listen/watch an Entertainer that owns a droid with the module installed, the Entertainer will get a 'track' selection screen that will allow them to access the different sound events in the file mentioned.

However, they are controlling the sound event that is played for the listener/watcher ONLY.

Basically, if you want to hear a certain part of the total SWG soundtrack (in-game), you find an Entertainer who owns a droid with this module installed and say....

"I want to hear track _____" or "I wanna hear that Lok music, please."

As an add-on to this, that 'effect' might even be able to last the listener/watcher for period of time after they have stopped listening/watching.

For example: The listener is on Coronet. They find an Entertainer that can change their track over to the Lok soundtrack. That change lasts for X minutes after you stop listening to or watching the Entertainer.

Tell me that's not more cool than the current Entertainer module idea.

Another idea would be for the droid to be able to play 'backup' for a musician. We've all heard the lonely entertainer playing Starwars2 all by themselves. The droid would provide some additional instrument tracks, starting when instructed but only if the owner is playing a song, stopping when the owner stops, flourishing whenever the entertainer band flourishes and playing the standard loop any other time.

That means downloading a goodly amount of content.

This idea simply gives player access to content that's already on every client. MUCH easier and faster.

The only other item that makes sense to me is the ability for users to select their own in-game soundtrack content.

That would also be a SUPER useful Entertainer droid module. I bet we'd all sell one of those to like EVERY player in the game.

No. You wouldn't download any new content. It would just mean that an entertainer and his droid would sound like a group of entertainers (more or less). The droid simply plays the existing entertainer tracks so that a soloist doesn't sound so 'thin'.

Ahhh...okay, I thought you meant something different than what you meant.

I think this is a great idea. If this came about, I'd like one myself, so I could have a personal boombox in game....

TK421, you've outdone yourself this time.....

You've asked me about this before, Z and I always said I knew something like that was possible. Pretty easy, very likely.

It's just a list of the exact sample start/end points in the MP3 data. They start/stop it all the time. This is simply building (and making available)a user dialog to have access to 'control' / change the assignment on the other player's box.

Only for Entertainers with the right module, of course.

Heck, we could even ramp the Level 1-6 versions as the number of items you'd have access (or the time that it would 'remain')to assign on the listener/watcher's PC.

Level 1: Either play up to 4 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say,5 min.

Level 2: Either play up to8 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say, 10 min.

Level 3: Either play up to16 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say, 15 min.

Level 4: Either play up to32 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say,20 min.

Level 5: Either play up to 64 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say, 30 min.

Level 6: Either play up to100 possible items or set the 'sustain' on the effect for, say,45 min.

Note: The above numbers are simply given by example and would obviously be adjusted (for balance, etc.) in some manner.

Heya, all...

I found a thread in the Game Guides that actually seems to suggest that this would be a desired droid module.

Enjoy...
