As a DE how many people ask you if you can add stuff to an already created droid?

What if an object was created to take already made droids and retool the module configuration as well as repair the droids vitality (kinda like a pet vitality pack for droids.) this would be one of those DE use only things. people can bring their old junk droids to a DE, have the DE "refurbish" the droid, and it would be a new droid. of course ever time this was done it would have to reduce the max vitality of the droid so it would eventually become useless.

But what do you guys think? Would this be useful to you other DEs, or just another piece of junk in your schematics?

Instead of the refurbishing idea (however, along the same lines), I think it would be more beneficial to 'trade in' your used droid for a new one. I.e. the customer brings his old droid in and gets a refund, depending on the condition of the droid. Then he buys a new droid from the DE.

However, the DE tehn would have the capability to dis-assemble the old droid and can recycle it at a slight loss back to resources to use to craft new droids. That would also take car of our problems with old components that become useless after patches . At least we could salvage most of them then.

Problem is, as I believe, the cmponents/resources used to make an item are not saved in the final item or deed. It has no way to know what components and resourceswent into it. It's probably just a series of flags for the different modules.
