Thread: Mortar Module for Commandos?

Heh had kind of a cool idea before. Grenades are pretty underused, simply because they pretty much suck.
What if a Module was added that only Commandos (and maybe Squad Leaders) were certed for. It worked kind of like a trapping module (but with longer range,) but was filled with and tossed grenades instead. Wouldn't do any more damage then if somebody threw grenades over and over again, but would give Commandos a little hunting buddy.

As a commando I wouldn't mind seeing something like. Possibly even a modified Treadwell droid with a motar-type device mounted onto the baseplate.
Grenades have varying results depending on the WS but the best thing is still thestraight combat xp you get from using them.

I liek this idea a lot, and even have a further suggestion!!
How about a generic throeing module, like the trap dispenser, which you can use to throw grenades etc, but also bottles of beer, just target your buddy, and throw the bottle to him! Saves on the whole idea of trading etc.

Heh the treadwell with a Mortar Tube on it would be pretty sweet looking.

I like this Idea using a system simaler to the trap shooter where the effectivness of the Granades are based on the Ablities of the Comando using the droid and the droid can only be loaded fired by players with the skills to effectivly use the granades themselfs

This is the BEST IDEA EVER.
Of course, I'm in a unique position to be biased, as my two expertises are as Master Droid Engineer and Commando. Heh.
Note: there is PRECIDENT for this kind of launching ability in droids... see R2's lightsaber launching maneuver in ROTJ.

I like this idea as well.
Anyone have any way to flesh out specifics on this? I don't know much about commando so I'm not sure where to start.
I assume something similiar to the way trap throwing works?

Another Precident in the EU... the Wrath Squadren Seiris part of the Rouge Squadren books. The Caractior of "Face" Loran made his droid cappable of shooting out "a cold one" (bottle of Lomin Ale chilled).

Corran May have had a Launcher in Whistler as well but the "Lomin Ale" Despencer was in Face's R2 as Wedge used it in the "amnisha party" in the second Wrath Squadern Book at the time Han was playing Sabac with Wedge and the running joke in the book/on the ship was that Han and Corran were the same person do to the fact they were never seen together.
