A while back we talked about rumors of people making the same modules over and over again until they got an Amazing assembly that was better then other Amazing Assemblies. Meaning that instead of them starting with a 24% before experimentation, they may get a 25%. The same resources were used.
This was a while back, and nobody could prove or disprove it, and we decided it was possible. Maybe.
Well it's been a while. I have crafted many many modules by hand, instead of factory runs, added 10 to my Assembly, gotten better crafting food, had our town made a manufacturing center, all the while paying close close attention to my amazings and my starting % and end results.
After hundreds of amazing successes (yes hundreds,) I have yet to ever see any difference. About ready to just start doing everything in factories again.
Has anybody else had any luck?

I too spent the weekend crafting many of the same mods/droids and keept careful track of this. What I noticed, especially when it came to final assembly of the droid, was that when I got an amazing assembly, it then took fewer experimentation points to max out the effectiveness. BUT the max rating/HAM was still the same either way. I would say that the amazing assemblies do have some small effect on the final but the max achievable ratings/HAM is definately governed by resource quality.

Your right, I notice the same thing about experimentation.
However, there are people who claim that an "Amazing Assembly" that is better then other amazings can get you a better %.
It wont take you over the max, but it can get you there.
For example, when I make Harvesting modules, I start the Experimentation phase with 24%, this is the same with an Amazing and a Great. Some people claim that on rare occassions, they can get an Amazing assembly that is better then other amazings, that will net them a start of 25%.
The problem is the reports are so low and are unconfirmed. Which is why I have been paying close attention, but have not been able to do it myself.

I remember the discussion, but now, I haven't been able to reproduce the results of those who got a "better than amazing" assembly that enabled experimentation to then go past 100% (effectively).
though, I have to admit, I haven't tried very hard, as I believe that if it really did happen to those few people who've claimed it, it was probably a bug anyway.

Yes, it works. I have yet to do it myself, but Goiga on Kauri managed to make a 110 rated droid when 109 had been the max previously. He didn't make a schematic though, so it is a one of kind droid for the time being and I don't think his assembly actually went up the extra 1% to tell him it was a better than normal assembly.
Not a super duper assembly success, but still better than anything we have seen on Kauri so far.

Hmm ok, interesting, this could make it hard to track then. The only way to really do it would be to make a schematic for every "amazing" you get. Let it run for 6, then toss them together. If you got a good one, finish the schematic.
What a pain in the arse.

Heh, yes and I did that. I made 10 schamtics with amazing assemblies and ran them and still ended up with 109 (funny thing is I was using slightly better inert gas than Goiga as well, but that gas is worth 3000 cpu's now so I don't use it for droids anymore ). It has to be a 1 in a 1000 shot to get that super duper assembly and I have never had much pure blind luck.
