Droid Engineer Archive

Let's face the facts. Droid Engineer isn't an "in-demand" profession. DEs are rarer than Jedi.. (no joke).

Here are a few ideas to help spice up and maybe add a little excitement and motivation to the DE Profession.

1.) Enhanced attack droids. The current combat droids are pathetic. Maybe add some weak Droidekas for players to use..

2.) Vendor droids. Usable only at master merchant, these droids are just like the merchant spammer droids, but in addition to spamming, they can sell a few items vendor style (maybe1 to 5 items max). Only one may be in your datapad at any given time. These would take class specific resources and DEs would be able to sell them for good money. Perhaps the higher they are experimented, the more items they can sell.

3.) Give a use for the Load Lifter besides telling them to /followtarget to newbies running around in Eisley.

I'll add to this list as I think of stuff.. that's all for now.

Believe me, DE's have gone thru those ideas and alot more over and over.

Offering them to the dev's all worked thru whenever they are kind enough to ask. The only problem is that DEV time is equally distributed over professions and game systems.

It amazes me that they are developing an expansion pack for a game that needs a lot of work.

Actually I really think that JTL is needed for the game. What is Star Wars without "stars" space combat is almost a must-have... we can always hope they will have some fixes in store for us when they are done with JTL.

yea, the new combat droids are supposed to be out sometime post-JTLS (I'm guessing around summer next year) with a droid commander profession to control them, so that should be good.

I like the idea of vendor droids, I know its been proposed before, hopefully they make something like that someday.

Load Lifters have also had tons of suggestions on how to improve them, so hopefully that happens here sometime.
