Thread: On being a guide to the repair of the DE class by those called 'DEV's' (humor?)
Humor, well I hope it is, otherwise I just might have to cry...
While zooming along one day in our supercharged V8 DE Xtreme, we shift badly while over-revving and ZOWIE! Three connecting rods fly through the hood and the engine comes to a ginding stop. Crying piteously to the various fates, we have our beast towed to the DEVs garage. After describing the problem they say, "we'll look into it..."
A few days later the phone rings and one of the DEVs asks, "so... just what seems to be the problem?" biting back a smartaleck reply we again describe the problem, to which they reply "we seem to have tracked down the problem, we'll get right on it!"
A week later again the phone rings to tell us it's all done and we can pick up the DE Xtreme anytime. We arrive to find they have washed and waxed it, and rotated the tires, but see that the engine is still blown... snapping out a short cry of disbelief we again describe what is wrong, and hear them again declare "we'll look into it..."
Another week later the phone again rings and again we are told it is all done and ready to be picked up, asking them if they are sure it is indeed ready this time, we are assured that yes it is. We rush down to find the gleaming finished product, hood repaired to no longer show the gaping holes the rods left on their way out. We sit inside and turn the key to hear... nothing... When asked they tell us, "Oh! The engine wasn't working so we removed it."
Choking back a viscious reply, we pause to again consider that there may well be a reason why DEV and Devil share so many letters....
FooGuevara are you sure its the muffler bearings? I thoughtjust the blinker fluid needed changed....
