Thread: What is with the power core units?

I am still grinding away through blueprints, and came along the Power Droid. It needs a power core unit which only architects can make, and that part requires a large amount of resources. So I go to an Architect and ask how much to get one, and most of them are in the 12k to 15k range?!?!

I was distressed, soI picked up Architect myself and got to buildings 1 where the power core unit is and built one. I have not yet tamed my new power droid, but I would like to know what they do and if at a 20k to 25k price range if we will ever sell them.

There is a "recharge" option which will recharge other droids and heal their mind wounds at the same time.

Putting a repair module in a powerdroid doesn't work, so unfortunatly you can't make a "catch all repair droid"

Well, thats interesting, but wouldn't it make more sense if they could...ya know....power something? Like a harvaster? I know we have enough problems as DE's, but this one in particualr hit me as a big problem with a quick fix that could bring us a ton of sales. You have a power droid that can generate energy and fuel structures for a set # of uses, something that makes them compareable price wise to Energy harvesters. Just walk up toa havester, hook the little bugger up, wait a few mins, and boom, charged up structure.

This probably has been brought up before, but I do think its a decent idea.

That would be nice yes. Same thing with the Binary Load Lifters.

They cost a lot to make and have no purpose.

Protocol droids. Just as useful as C3PO (at least they stayed close to the movies here, 3PO in the movies was worth bantha poodoo too)

I've only received one request since SWG Launch to make a Power Droid. That request was made by a self-described "droid collector". Perhaps some of the other DEs could weigh in with their experiences, but I'd say don't spend your precious skill points on the Architect tree just to pick up Power Core Units.

I named my power droid 'Glop'Glop'...And being alsopart Novice Arch, a power core unit takes up a lot of resources...And it seems all really useless to me...The Power and Binary droids are just resource eaters...

I think you mean Gonk. That is the nickname for power droids.

They are fun droids but not easy to sell unless you know a friendly architect who will make them for you cheaply.

Personally I think they should change them so that they only need the small power units and not the huge power cores.
