Thread: On limited strike due to Xahn's snub of Sintrosi, limited Dev response to issues

From this moment forward I will only manufacture droids for members of my guild, or any Bounty Hunter who asks for Seekers or Probes. I'm changing my displayed in-game title from Master Droid Engineer to Master Artisan, and my vendor will be de-listed from the planet map.

My strike ends when either of these conditions are met:

1. The Devs post a response, HERE in the DE forum (not buried within a post on the General or CH forum), acknowledging BOTH of Sintrosi's weekly reports. That's 12 issues, please, and more than just "yes, that's a problem... what do you suggest?"

2. Xahn clarifies or retracts his apparent snub against Sintrosi posted today in the General Discussion forum. His post was inaccurate, uncalled for, and demonstrated that SOE isn't reading the DE forum at all.

I am speaking only for myself and am not asking anyone to join me. This post is merely to "vent" and state my position.

This is a "limited" strike in that I recognize BH's also need a lot of Dev attention, and that a complete strike would cause them additional grief. Therefore I'll continue stocking my vendor with BH-specific droids, but that's all.

If anyone disagrees with my position, I'll respect their right to disagree and try not to take it personally

Regards,

- Lysis

I believe Mick is, like many of us upset that we have to go to every other forum to try and scrye answers from the Devs posts about Droid Engineering.

The Devs haven't posted directly to us in a considerable amount of time and the post on our Corresponant issues doesn't count since he cut and paste it and left the forum in under 30 seconds.

Xahn won't show up on the Dev Tracker because he's a Moderator that is given God like powers to decide what is an appropriate and constructive, incidentally he never visits this forum, (just like the Devs,) and seems to take great joy in locking all ourthreads that have a hope in hell of attracting a Devs attention when they are posted to the main forums.

It's in this thread:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=390814

Xahn'x comments:

" I'm not going to close this one down. It's a very good post. As long as the post is constructive, I have no problems with it being about DEs. I think you guys should get more attention. But the minute you start posting adult language in your threads, or make threats, I'll close them down. I'd like to see your Correspondent post something like this, it would probably get more attention..."

I posted a follow-up in that thread asking Xahn to clarify his position, as it can be interpreted as saying "your correspondent hasn't posted anything constructive... wow Jabetha's post contains a lot of information we've never seen before", which is a bunch of B.S. if that's the case. (Jabetha's post is a good one, by the way, and is worth a read)

Thank you for clarifying....

Just more proof that the only time a dev has been down here is to tell us of the probot nerf and then to post our non answers to our issues we sent in..

Well, I tried to promote a strike, mainly for reasons like this. Alot of the people that are telling Xahn he should apologize for saying sintrosi doesnt post anything constructive, are the same people that will come and shoot down anyone striking. Im still on strike, I dont even sell seekers or crating/medicals to my friends...I think an all around strike is good for many reasons, raising awareness of the DEs situation is very important IMO. Striking is the only way I can think of to have devs see the situation and want to move the process faster, that means instead of nerfing everything that looks suspicious they actually fix the professions that are broken. Theres many people on the forums that will talk the talk but the minute anyone calls for action to do anything they wont walk the walk. That was my experience with calling a strike.

Ok, i know i'm rerally gonna p!$$ Xahn off here but i have to say this. I see Xahn as a kid whos found his dads gun, he has the power to shut down threads and say WHATEVER he feels like about even those here to help us "grunts" in game.

I still remember the "Week Of Xahn" where he went around and closed every thread that was saying something bad about the game/devs/SOE, and it made us all sick, he then faded for a while like a bad cold, now he's back and i'm waiting the "Return Of Xahn", when he'll continue to close threads just because he holds a grudge. I Doubt he actually reads the posts, maybe just the first line, or a negative comment.

Anyways, the Devs never hit this forum sadly so we all know that we could post what we like about the Dev's and never actualy see anything from them in retaliation. I've heard in one post on here of one of the DE's on one server shutting business down till something is done, I SUPPORT HIM......the only problem is they dont care about us, we go on strike, they dont care, because WE DONY EXIST!

Vyndice,

I mean no disrepect to you and wish you well in your efforts. My reasons for selling only to my guild and to BH's are personal and aren't intended as a snub to your call-to-arms for a general strike.

As for selling to guild/PA, that is because we rely upon each other heavily, they have always been good customers of mine, and they've helped me out several times in the past. Without them, I still would be scratching my way up the DE experience tree.

As for selling to BH's, I'm doing this so as not to alienate them. They've always been good and respectful customers (at least the ones I've dealt with). It is also my wish to express solidarity with them, as their profession is suffering from nerfs and inadequate Dev attention as well.

Anyway, I'm not trying to convince anyone to change their position... I'm just clarifying mine so you understand where I'm coming from

Good luck!

I would say that i would go on partial strike, but the only time I ever sell droids (ecept for one R5 with a food/chem stations) is to my PA.. so I wouldnt notice any difference =/

Mick I respect your strike as well, however small it is, your basically saying you arestriking agianst the 5% of people who ask for a medical or crafting station, we get what ,1 tell a dayfrom someone we dont knowasking for those, if that? Every little bit helps, I just dont see that as a strike really, more you saying nah Im just going to sell to my friends and any BH I come across, which is probably about 95% of your business, like it is for every other DE out there. I knowa fewDEs on my server thatjust sell to friends and PA members and they dont consider themselves on strike, they just do it because they have plenty of money anddont want to go through the trouble of mass marketing....Well good luck on your efforts as well.

Jeeeezus you guys, grow up! If you're the completely suspicious, vindictive type you could read that as a "snub", but I'm pretty **edit** sure he's just saying, "This is a good post, have your Correspondent submit this so we can make sure it gets attention."

I'm dealing with all these DE issues too, I know some of it sucks (i.e. when are droids going to become the primary "pets" in this game as it should be in any Star Wars branded experience), but I don't think they're out to piss us off.

I take the game seriously too, but some of you need to lighten up a bit.

With all respect Jefmes, Sintrosi has been posting constructive critiques including that one. I would guess that you missed the thread that got this all started. What we are saying is why would Xahn even make a comment like that if he even stopped by our forums and had a tiny grasp of what was being said and done here. I dont see any of the normal posters on this forum being vindictive or suspicious. I just see them stating clearly what they observe.
