Thread: Let's shift DE focus please

Hi again All,
With do respect to Drashk, TH, and the Devs, I must say that I am very disappointed lately in the discussions of Droid Engineering of late. It seems the main focus of discussions (other than a small portion that make sense) aren't going do do anything that make me proud to be a DE. The Main focus of late with the "Droid Invasion" has everyone thinking of combat droids. My customers all keep asking when will I be able to make them a Droidika. I don't want to build Droidikas. I very much appreciate that the DEVs now have time to focus on making the DE profession a respectable CRAFTING profession. Currently there is one combat capable droid that has decent resists and decent damage for it's level. Let's leave that for now.
Let's concentrate on doing some serious bug exterminating before "combat only" droids even come out. I know Drashk has mentioned this time and time again. Low and behold the combat droid discussion keeps coming back and taking precedence.
COMBAT DROIDS ARE NOT WORTH MAKING IF YOU CAN"T EVEN EXPERIMENT QUALITIES WITH RESULT!

People are not joining the DE profession to be crafters.. Most are Holo Grinders. A lot of them ask me for advice as to whether to keep MDE for the combat droids coming out. They don't understand that the profession is so full of bugs that the first combat droids wil be one of two things, either completely worthless, or so "uber" that everyone will want one.
I vote we shift the focus away from "fighting droids" completely. I read these forums daily hoping for one little bit of hope that I will be able to use my experimentation points to improve the quality of my droids. I long for the ability to make a droid that will do tasks for me. I want to make helpful droids for all professions. A crafting droid isn't unique by any means. Anyone can have an Architect build them a home crafting station. Any healer can heal in a camp or med center without a droid. 10 item storage is not enough to make it a priceable option on a droid. And schematic storage isn't worth the time put into crafting since you have so much personal data room anda droidwill only store schematics.
The only unique part of any droid is the Probot. Some people in game are now realizing that no level 10 pet can match a Probot for a fighting compainion with the recent Nerf of non-ch pets. I am notproud of this fact because that same droid can have multiple crafting stations, a 110 med center, 10 item storage, 110 data, a repair module, 40% resists to all and still do 60-90 damage, andthe Probot has no degrading done to it if it gets nuked. All my orders of late seem to be these Probots with the works. People are willing to pay any asking price for these.
I beg you as a community to shift focus away from all the DH discussion and combat droid discussion. Let's follow Drashk with the idea of fixing what's broke before trying to upgrade it in any way. If you are proud to be a DE then you should be with me.

Of course that useful droid is considered by most DE's to be an exploit, and if it is, may be fixed in Patch 6, so you may not have them for much longer.
