Yes. Pet vitality packs work on droids. Just make sure you use "Use Vitality Pack" from the droid's datapad icon rather than trying to use the pack with the droid targetted.

You know, I hate to sound like a money grubbing merchant here (although DE has turned me into a bit of one, muahahaha), but I'm PRETTY sure the vitality packs working on droids is a bug. It's the ONLY real decay we have for droids, and as long as people can just fix up their vitality we're going to eventually reach a saturation point and there will no longer be a market for new droids. There may always be a small one or miscellaneous things, but the current decay system does not promote good turnover. In this same line of thinking, it makes me feel more for Architects, but structures always seem to be in demand.

Then do what I did; /bug it in-game

If enough people do that maybe the devs'll think someething along the lines of "Oh, if so manypeople think it's a bug, maybe it is."

We could also poke our correspondent a little too so he can pass it on, right?

Right?!

I disagree. You'd basically be making it so pets would last longer than droids, which doesn't make sense, since you'd think it would be easier to repair a metal object than a living, breathing creature.

I would prefer a solution where droid parts would be needed as part of the vitality-restoration process, rather than pet vitality packs. I remember that they added vitality packs working on droids as a line in the patch notes when they removed permadeath.

So no, I will not be /bugging this.

Yes, it is a bug - because they have fixed it before and it has resurfaced.

Very quietly months ago there was a temporary fix and vitality packs didn't work for awhile - I know this because I tried to heal my Prenerf several times during that period and it didn't work. I hadn't tried it in forever, but had heard lately that people have been doing it regularly.

It makes no sense for an organic medicine to do anything but clog up the works in our droids.

I think this is an important bug that needs to be fixed - our droids are better than CL10 pets (I haven't even seen anyone with one since the patch, actually) and yes, they should die - or we won't sell any more to replace them.

50 deaths (which would take 100 vitality to 0) is plenty - if people are haphazzardly throwing their droids into situations that /db them all the time, they are going to have to pay upkeep on it - just like any other weapon. It only loses vitality when it's /db, not just when it's incapact.

If people thought the cluster module was an "exploit" then certainly they must see this as one - this is making droids indestructable. While making them 1-kill permadeath as they did once last summer would be the worst thing ever, I'd be pretty happy with the system as-is if they would just fix the bug with vitality packs. Let the crafters keep their droids forever - it's the replacement sales of combat droids that will keep us going.

Thankfully, most people don't know about the bug...

On my doid's Vitality, I notice it's getting pretty low. The last thing I need is to lose my combat R3. So I was wondering... is there a way to restore a droid's Vitality? I know there is for pets (with a Vitality StimPack), but is there for droids?

If it's such a bad bug, then why don't they just make Droid Vitality Packs? Like hell I'm going to lose my droid to decay. If that happens, there's no way in hell I'm going to by droids just to spend 60-100k on a good droid and just have it decay to death.

Utility droids don't decay at all.

Butcombat droids really should - just like weapons. The more you use it (or the more you allow it to die) the quicker you have to replace it.

I'm not saying the current system is the way to go, but theBE packs working on droids is a definate bug.

You spend more than that on a good weapon, correct? Much more than that on armor as well. Is that un reasonable to pay on a not-so-regular basis to keep the droid economy moving? EVERYTHING should decay through use.

Question for you guys too then - do pet vitality packs FULLY restore a pets vitality or does it only fill it back up to a new lower maximum, similar to the condition on weapons? If it fully restores the vitality, I'd consider that a bug too!

New lower maximum. My probot went from 92/100 to 99/99.

Not really. I spent only about 24k for an unsliced Flamethrower that already did 1012 max damage, spent about 30k for armor (I hardly ever use it, so I don't buy much), good pistols I can find for 20k or less.

If droids decay, they shoudl have a higher condition. 100 isn't enough. Maybe 300 or something. I use my combat R3 quite often, and 100 condition just isn't enough. Lowering condition when repairing Vitality (like weapons) I don't mind for I know nothing lasts forever. But they should atleast last long enough to get your money's worth. Hell, my weapons, armor and every other decayable item lasts longer then my R3.

Having a decay on battle droids (really, all droids) is okay with me. But, coming hereas a droid buyer and user, not crafter, 50 deaths is much too low. If I buy a combat droid, it's because I'm using it, regularly in battle. And I expect to get at least a month's worth of time out of it. If I have to spend 40K on a battle droid every 50 deaths, I'm just gonna quit using them. Then you'llhave one lesspotentially regular customer.

I think you'll get a lot better reception from us buyers with a more realistic decay rate. And a lot more repeat customers. A rate similar to that of weapons or armor is more in line with reality.

Cheers,

Martek
