Hey fellow DEs. I just finished posting a FAQ about playback modules over in the musician forum, and decided that the information might as well flow both ways. Here are some things that you really should know about the playback modules when you're selling them to someone:
- They can only be used by Novice Musicians. The easiest way to make sure they will be able to use it is to ask them to make the Dual Wave Synthesizer for you (even if you happen to be able to make it yourself). If they don't have the schematic, they won't be able to use the droid.
- When droids do flourishes (via /bandflourish) it will use up part of their action HAM. This isn't a big deal on astromechs, LEs, etc, but in MSE droids or Treadwells they'll be useless after a handful of flourishes. Talk your customers in to a droid with slightly higher HAM, or see if you can convince them to add an auto-repair module to thier droid. Even a mid-grade auto-repair module can compensate for constant flourishing.
- Each playback module that you install in a droid adds one track that can be recorded to. Resource quality and experimentation does not matter, so the maximum no matter what is 6 tracks (in an ADV R3).
That's it... just a couple things to keep in mind when someone asks about them. Use the info as you see fit.

You should cross post this to the Playback module focus thread...
