Thread: MSE Data Storage
They used to store missions (like hunting missions and such) and mission waypoints (like destroy missions) but, from what I understand, they could be used to get a LOT of missions at once, and do them all at once instead of having to go back to the terminal, which apparently was an exploit and unbalancing.
Now, if you could have done 10 hunting missions at once this would make sense, because well... duh!
But if the hunting mission had to be in YOUR datapad to count the kills... I dunno how it was unbalancing...
At any rate, they only store waypoints (normal kind I think) and crafting schematics.
I don't know how crafters rack up that many schematics, but I have several crafter friends who have their 5 droid limit, and every droid they own has a data module... *shrug*

MekeaAdetu - do you know for certain that data modules now hold waypoint?
They never used to (and always should have IMO)
Not sure in the least, honestly, it's just secondhand info from a semireliable source that he was using it for such... and if they're not missions, I can't imagine why they wouldn't. How could someone exploit that?
"OMGLOLZ! I am teh l33t! I made my droid hold the waypoint for my shop so now I can hold ANOTHER waypoint for THAT GUY'S shop! OMG!"

It was a database proliferation issue when it came to nerfing out normal waypoints.
It was an exploitation issue when it came to taking out mission waypoints.
I hope someday that resources are such that we can have general functionality in these modules (at the least they need to be reworked for astrogation in JTL).
