I bought an R5droid (primarily to use for JTL) and realized that I could get higher payouts when grouped with it on the ground.

I'd like to use it as a tank, but it lacks the programming.

Can I typically buy the programs from a DE? If so, if any of you Bria DE's could point me to your shops and give me some prices, I'll stop by tonight (after the wife goes to bed).

If your R5 doesn't have any combat modules installed, it will never attack. There aren't any programs you can load into it to make it do so either.

Basically, you'll have to buy a new droid if you want one that is both an Astromech for space and combat on the ground.

I'd recommend at least an R2 (or higher)...with the Astromech cert. you need and everything else in it combat modules.

As for finding a Bria DE for this, check the Intergalactic shop locations sticky up at the top and you should be in business.

If I may humbly submit my opinion, I would suggest checking out a ProBot loaded with 5 Auto-Repair modules. The droid will still attack, but will do minimal damage (saving all the XP for you), and heal itself every 10 seconds for up to 100 or so damage (depending on the quality of the modules the DE makes). You'll want to stock up on droid batteries too.

I suggest this because you say you were looking for a "Tank Droid".

Wow. This is the most polite board I've been to. On most of the other boards, half the replies I get are like:
