Thread: Harvesting Droids Best % Increase

I am not a DE, but like to use them. I recently started useing a harvesting droid that is (I think) +24. I however see no noticable difference in the amount of yeild I get when my droid is used. I have Hunting IV. Is there a droid with a higher bonus that will help me yeild more?

If the harvest rating is "24", then that's a pretty yucky rating. I wouldn't recommend you get/use a harvest droid with less than a rating of 100. If you can get higher than that...all the better.

Wow yea, you have a lot of room to improve. They go as high as 119, but most servers can only make about +107-110. You will certainly see an advantage.
People get confused by the harvest rating, they think it is a bonus to their skill. The reality is that the Droids skill is compared to the owners skill. The greater the Droids skill over the person the greater the %. In fact if the droid is a lot worse then your skill, you may actually lose harvest.
Get a better droid and you will certainly see a larger increase.

I was under the impression that while anything above 100 will give you a bonus, anything under 100 will hit a "floor" value that's equal to your harvest skill, in other allow no bonus, but give no increase either, so for the extra time it takes to use it you're getting nothing extra. Am I wrong here?

I am not 100% positive about the last part, but fairly sure. I have heard many reports of Master Rangers using crappy droids and actually getting less Harvest. Not having proved it myself or heard it from a source I consider 100% trustworthy, I could be mistaken though.
