Well my subscription is up in 10 days time. I havent logged into SWG for months. After all the DE trouble that happened i just cant be bothered and the game has nothing in it for me anymore. However i would like to come back someday (maybe 
). If i cancel my account will it remain in the database so i can revive it if th future and still have my character etc?

Yes...your character will persist for an amount of time (the exact time hasn't ever been stated but I believe it's many weeks).

I had a buddy that ducked out for about 2-3 months and was able to log back into his character after all that time. So, that will give you some idea of how long you have. If you wait too long, however, your character will be cycled out.

TH has stated that so far NO Character has been deleted, but that a database wipe MAY happen at some point. Or with other words 'You should be okay, but don't rely on it'

I did read a Dev post (I think you can find it inDev Tracker..I'm almost sure it was TH)about this somewhere...and I believe it had to do with leaving for a Maternity.
I think the answer is, if you pay up maintenance on whatever needs it, then 6 month can be pretty well relied on.
Posters then went on to comment about the implications if you live in a player city...it would be polite to move your house out of the city zone while away for obvious reasons.
Thats all I can remember on the subject, oh, and there are no guarantees.

Can I make another account without having to purchase the game again?
can I just purchase a CD-key?

No sir, you must purchase another box which contains the second key you need to create a second account. The software is redundant though, unless you don't have TTE, then you will have a copy of the lastest patches, builds, etc.

You do need to have a separate key to start a new account, and these
only come with the purchase of new software at this time, via the
online store or retailer.

dlgamer.com Will open the box for you and send you the CD key but it still cost you the same minus the postage and packing. |
