After countless Post CU, attempts to craft my Mando Helm, we were finally successful. So now I respeced my Jedi alts temp to have Master Tailor, Master Droid Engineer. I am going to craft my helm soon, but im a total crafter noob. What components and resources are needed to complete the process. I am told I need some type of hide and petro Chem. What stats would I be looking for in these to make sure they are the best, and what and how many of things do i need for the health bonus'es.....please help I dont wanna screw this up.
Also what is the rating on the best tool I can use ?

if you havent already done so post to the armorsmith fourm. but as far as i know you would need to get a bunch of components and resourses from a armorsmith.
- optional: find a DE that will let you borrow their crafting suit (1-2 extra experimentaion points)
- find a chef and buy some bespin port (gives 1-2 extra experimentaion points)
- learn the scematic, this is a one shot deal so dont do it unless you are going to craft it.
- pull out your Clothing tool next to a Clothing crafting station, the higher the rating on them to 15 and 45 respectivly the better. then find what resourses and components you need then close down the tool.
- shop around and ask armorsmiths if you could buy a small amount of resourses and components you need to make a good peice of armor.
- also ask them what lines to experiment on to get desired results.
- stand next to a near 45 rated Clothing crafting station with a Clothing tool rated near 15 and start crafting
hope it helps
as for the types of resourses i have no idea, never made one pre/post CU. The above is the steps i would go through to make the helmet, well minus the DE suit of course.

Made a mando helmet not to long ago, basicly do what he said above. You will need a 12 point suit to get the best results, bespin PORT WILL NOT give 2 extra points. There is only 1 line to experiment on, you will need armor cores (not sure wich ones) whatever type Mando armor is. You will also need wooly hide, and I beilive petorchemical. There are also 3 OPTIONAL items you can put in for more customization. I STRONGLY sugest these, the one I made didnt get the color we wanted. You can learn it whenever and then craft it whenever, dont worry about it disapeering.

what does bespin port do now? I thought it increased experimentation by at least 1 point.

Not entirely sure what the port does, but if it's supposed to enhance experimentation, it will only increase your chances of an amazing experimentation. It's like force experimentation, I believe.

Port doesn't give you extra experimentation points, it just gives you a better chance at getting amazings and such.

Not posotive so tell me if im wrong you got the apperance for the Mando armor helmet. What this means is you need to hook up with a friendly armor with and get assult armor cores from him for what ever stats you would like. I do not believe stats matter nor would an extra 2xp but it might help with conition. Id get the best of the best just to make sure but your acctualy resist will not change except by the cores you put in.

yeah...you will need assult armor cores...just remember that assult armor get +1k kin and -1k energy on the armor itself. so if you want higher then 3800 energy..will have to primus or energy layer it. so talk with your AS and get the low down on cores. also i would wait to craft it for when health enhancers are fixed..so you can get some serious health enhancements on it

No. It has been rumored that Customization Tapes will increase the palette, but no hard evidence has been shown to prove or disprove this information.
The color palette is based off of 255, which is what Armorsmiths and Tailors have. DEs only have 64, so even with a ton of Customization tapes, the color palette would still be limited.
