I don't know about you all, but Drioid Engis alot work, and for what we get paid for it is just not right. I love the revamp becase it cased more people to use there droids. And what most people don't realize is that a droid is better than most non-CH pets. The combat pones. But it is not worth it to Elte combat professions. So we when need to do is simple stop being cheap with selling our droids. Sadly, there are some people who just want to make a quick 2K, Once thing i realized is to make a tremdous differnce in prices for a droid that they only have to buy once. Suvery Droids and Dentation droids will keep us in business, but not if people are selling them for 2K. Where those DE's that are selling the droids for less are kicking themselves in the end. I think a really good max out droid should cost about 100K. Since that is the best thing we can make as far a droid goes. People only have to buy it once. We shouldn't sell and 6mod combat r3 droid for 20K, that is crazy. I have been making droid brains for 2 days, and my factory is still not done. All though i still belive that they should have given a droid a way to have alot more thams than what they did. Even though it was great. I think that Master DE or those in teh DE profesiosn should be able to handle higher level droids. And that we should be able to bring out more than 1 droid and hold more droids. Just like a Ch is able to hold up to 22 pets and bring out 3 at a time. And i have done all the crafting profeissions except armorsmith DE seems to be the most complex profesiosn there his, It takes me about 20minues to make a droid. And to only sale it for 50K, come on.

Well that is enough complaining becase i iknow that in about a week, the droid hype will be over and the prices will do go down. And guess what i won't be a master DE,lol,

Well those are my thoughts post yours.

Hey, c'mon, at least he's using full sentences! Point well taken though about the droid prices. I have elevated mine as well. S'bout time we started making some credits for these droids now that they are useful companions.

Right you are.... IMHO the reason we are not the most paid prof in the game is because people sell there droids to darn cheap.

A combat droid now is like having an kick as weapon or if used as a tank is like having some really far out armour on. These droids should go for what they are really worth not just some dumb number cruncher adding up the resources needed or X* the number of modules installed.

For me, I take great pride when I am crafting a droid. A droid is not just a droid. It's your weapon when you are out hunting or on a mission. It will stand tall in front and take all the blows while your behind him fighting with all you've got. It's your friend when out on some distant part of your galaxy with no one around for km's. You see, this is why these droids should be selling for a much higher price then they are. But, it's people that sellbarker droids for 5k or a mouse bomb for 5k, a crate of survey droids for 10k or even a crate of seekers for 10k.

I would love to sell my droids for a much higher price but I can not due to the fact that the guy selling his sh1t quality droids for a cheaper price is gonna get the business cause most people don't even know the difference between a combat droid and a crafting droid.

Let me preface this by saying I have no doubt you're underpaid in some areas and you should do what you can to get paid what you're worth. HOWEVER, some things are cheap just because that's all your customer can justify paying.

(Just using Fromme's numbers, but not addressing him directly) Please explain to me why anyone would pay (more then?) 5k for a bomb droid that awkwardly does a one time hit of 600 damage to another player in pvp? If you charge 10k tell me one scenario where that might pay off. And how much more would you want to see survey droids go per 30 minute or under charge? 3k? 5k? So if I want to send 2 of these out to the same remote planet I'm going to be waiting the same amount of time but paying 2 or 3 times more?

Please don't think I'm trying to be cheap, just trying to point out value - and what is valuable - as a potential customer sees it. I have no problem shelling out 50 - 100k for a quality combat droid (and did that 2 days ago) or other droid that I might get repeated use out of. And if I was an entertainer I'd have no problem paying a fair but higher price on some of the new effects droids. But, when you're talking consumables like the survey droids or the bomb droids there's just going to be a point where it doesn't matter how much the process or the materials are "worth" to you as a DE, if I as a customer don't see it paying off I'm not going to be buying crate after crate of these things - instead I'll find ways *not* to have to use them or just ignore they exist.

So be careful with your quest to get more money

I guess this would be a bad place to post seeing a MDE (2 months of exp) selling bounty hunter droids for 50 and 75 credits each. Full combat r3's for 9k and well, lets just say Isaw a crate of adv droid brains for about 100 credits a piece.

I let him know what his fiscal dillemma was and to fix his pricing "stratagy"........after I bought the adv droid brains of course

The prices of his droids were so low, I had to check the boards to see if they were making DE's the only SWG profession. jeez....

$9k?!?!? I have NEVER seen this. Must be a going out of business sale, or total crap.

I sell a decked out R3 Droid for $65k. And, I sell ADV LE Repair Combat Droids for $70k (because of their TANKing power, allows holo grinders to level their low level combat skills easier)

Think of it this way...

Armorsmiths charge between $60k and $80k for a piece of 80% main resist armor piece. Their armor provides a much greate deal of effect when in use. An R3 droid, roughly the same amount of parts, is charged for at the same amount (at least in my case). The only difference is, we don't sell 9 droids to 1 person at a time. But, pound for pound, I am getting roughly the same CPU as an Armorsmith being a DE.

The crafting process for DE is horribly intricate as well, I have no problem paying decent credits for decent products.

Lets make a "treaty" here today, let us all raise our prices....you guys all with me? Not talking about ripping people off, just raise the prices very justifiably all things considered

ie. resources, time, components, usefullness, modules, etc......

I for one am starting today when I get home

I'd have to agree with Ragnaat there. If you dont make the sale your still not makeing money. I try to maintain a ballance between toexpesive and not worth my time. Recently i redid my pricing plan to reflect this. A good example is the R3adv with combat, or combat and various other things is going to cost more than the same model with nothing but entertainer modules. I know that even the high end entertainers dont realy make much. (I tried that on one of the servers once) In contrast those that go out and engage in combat make plenty of money selling the loot.

Are DEs underpaied? yes. Should we rase prices to where people are just going to stop buying to fix this? no. I hate to say it but haveing a basic understanding of real world economics does help in game.

The "Enter" key is your friend.

We DE's do not make a single thing that a Combat type can't do without. Making items for the combat community is where the money is at. Combat Types need Weapons and Armor, they do not need a droid. Therefore the people who make these good, will always make more money then we.

Shame the Commando's cannot use the Det droids. That would have been a nice money making niche.
