I'm a Archy looking to branch out into DE as well. Coming from Archy I know that some components don't allow experimentation, and some do but to do so is a waste of time as quality of resources and experimentation results don't affect the product.
I was hoping someone could clarify, when I'm crafting DE components (including Master Artisan ones), which components should I pay attention to quality and experimentation?
I've tried to find this in the FAQ but haven't been able to find the answer. I'm hoping someone could give me a clear list of what components affect the end product.
Any help you can give is appreciated. Thanks.

Combat Modules
Auto-Repair
Stim-Pack
Creature Harvesting
Scout Trap
Detonation Modules
Any Level 3 Module (add these together you will get an equivilent of 1 level 6)
Final Droid Deeds
Droid Stims
I alway experiment on each subcomponent. That doesn't mean I always use the best resources for every component. I save those for the above modules.

not likely. the only cases where experimentation and quality seem to matter on DE parts is if the item in question has a stat associated with it that clearly translates directly to some stat of the item you are crafting. so as a rule:
- items that have charges benefit from improved resources (except for the Seeker and Arakyd droids, those ones always have the same number of charges no matter what resources you use).
- the quality of the sub-components in crafting these items appears to have no affect EXCEPT in those cases where the sub-components themselves have "charge" or "healing" rate stats associated with them (that is the case only for the sub-components of the repair and reconstruction kits)
- the HAM of the final droid benefits from the resources used during the final crafting step (the sub-components have no affect on the HAM).
- modules that have clear ratings ("mechanism quality"is not a rating and doesn't have any affect on the stats of a module) AND which stack in such a way that you need 6 of the best quality version of the module to get the highest possible rating for the module's ratingare very dependent upon the resources (combat modules, harvest modules, trapping modules, auto-repair modules, detonation modules, stimpack dispensor modules).
- a corollary of this is modules that stack, but where there are6 different versions of the same module. for these anysingle level 6 version of the module gives the best possible rating for the module. These do not benefit from improved resources unless you are combining multiple lower level versions of the module together (which a master has no need to do). This includes item storage, data storage, medical, and armor modules.
- none of theitems thatbenefit from the quality of the resources benefit from the quality of the sub-components with the exception of the sub-components of the repair and reconstruction kitsas mentioned above.
- if it is not clear, modules that have no obvious in-game stats do not benefit from the quality of the resources. this includes all entertainer related modules, all crafting station modules, as well as the merchant barking module and the repair module. these modules just work. their is no variability in how well they work and therefore resources and sub-components do not matter for them.
In any case, all this sidesteps the question of whether or not the quality of the sub-components affects the success rates during assembly or experimentation. That is an open question that nobody is really able to answer in any of the crafting professions. I'm only addressing cases where the quality of the resources affects the final stats of the actual droid produced.

How did you get Interior Decorator as your community status title?
To answer your question. I do not see a difference in the end product when concerning the componets. I have used good resources and i have used bad resources to make all sorts of componets and the results seem to be the same. The modules however are a different story. For your combat , harvester, etc.. the resources make a big difference in the over rating or efficiency at which a droid will perform. For example: Thefirst Survey droids i made had a report time of 46 minutes. I got some better Gemstone and radio active material it the got down to 25 minutes. I do not feel the subcomponets matter as much the higher quailty resources put in the final stage of creation.

My home was showcased in Garva's Weekly Home Show. Click here to see my home that won me the title.

As an archy make some of those power things, darn can't remember the name. For the Power Droids. Yeah no one uses them but thats my point, you never see any around so could class it as rare decoration furniture and charge 20k

How about the Master Artisan components? Does the quality of them affect our products?
