My Droid engineer glows with the Force, and it is my intent to get her Force Crafting Mastery. While I must say, donig the theme Parks and other badges with only a couple of Marksman Badges was exciting and challenging. I then had to give up my combat (and medic) skills to return to being a full crafter.
Well yesterday, I got my visit from the Old Man, which happily got me started on my way. I promptly buffed, tossed some armor on and beganto shuttle hop, waiting for the Sith. To no avail.
Well today when I logged in, I had a vast amount of work ahead of me. By getting my badges and working my Force quests for my Combatent character, I had fallen dreadfully behind on my vendors. I had about 150 droids to make to get my vendors back up to snuff. So basically, no Sith chasing for me,if they came to me so be it.
Now obviously you don't craft in Armor, and staying buffed all day whileI crafted was just not feasible. So I merrily went on my way making Droids. Now not being a total fool, I had my #1 bodyguard Obliterator set on Guard for me all day. He looked quite bored but he sat there quietly, skulking like only a Probot can do.
Towards the end of the day, with Sith and FS forgotten, I ws out by my factories. Then all of a sudden, Obliterator my bodyguard shot out of sight to the Southwest, he was long gone. Wondering what he was doing, i then went to track him down. 150 meters away, I found him standing over the bodies of 2 dead Sith. I never even knew they were coming, yet he did, and killed them.
I then moved on to the Sith Camp, knowing it would be a little tougher. Well Obliterator cleared it without even needing a heal. Although the leader gave him a good fight.
Today was proof positive that Droids can be very effective friends to non-master combatents.

Shame those Sith are weaker than Meatlumps though.
They take the good name "Sith" in vain methinks.

Congrats Straker!
Same here, except I used my combat capable Adv R3 with the auto repair module. He ate those punk Sith sissy's for breakfast

The thing that I thought was coolest was that he took them out before they even got to agro me. I never even got the combat music.

Straker_Atrella congratulations on the droid
One thing though, you mentioned a sith camp. Was that the one with the Cyborg Jedi in it?
That would be pretty impressive if just a normal Combat Probot could take on a dark jedi and his cohorts.

That would be final mission to be an Initiate after the Village is over.
I can assure you that any droid out during an attack on that one will be toast if it gets aggroed ![]()

Ok, I'm new to DE... what kind of modules did you have in you droid?
What does it take to make a decent combat droid?

Yes it was the Sith camp, after the old man visits you. That Cyborg Jedi camp is way insane. If my Probot cleared that, he would be theone holding the leash and not me.
Hails, that Droid has Maxed HAM (3200) maxed Armor (20% with one level 6 module,) 5 Combat modules, for a Combat rating of 539 if I remember correctly. I don't use a TANK (one with auto repair modules,) droid with her simply because he is her weapon, and she is his medic. With her standing there Healing him with stim D's, he doesn't need auto repair.
In the past he has cleared Quenker, Hurton, and even Graul lairs for her while she healed.
As to what makes a good combat droid, it depends what you want. If you want a Droid to kill, I like a all combat Probot. If you want a droid to Distract and live while YOU kill, then you have a few TANK options, with the LE, R3,and Probot; all with auto repair.
