Hello all, I am new to the boards, and thought I would announce my presence as a master Droid engineer. I Mastered about a week ago, and duea fortutious series of events, got to be a 12 point MDE this past weekend.

While this may sound nice, I really have no idea what I'm doing as yet. I have made a couple of entertainer droids for myself (MDE / Master Musican) and guildmates, and I have begun harvesting in earnest for common and uncommon resources.

I was wondering what I should do first, my guildmates have special orders, and some have also been a bit overzealous in advertising my presence to others... Does anyone have advice as to what I should do first?

Thanksin advance.

Nope no sig as yet. But if anyone was wondering I'm on Tarquanias, and My toons are Ibd Idahe (Master Rifleman/Master Fencer/Surveyor Extroidnaire) and Bacons' (Master Musican/12pt MDE/Master Artisan)

When I first started MDE I made a few MSE Storage Droids, those are always needed. After that I would recommend in trying to find some quality resources and putting togather some larger things like Medical droids with Storage and a Food/Chemcal crafting station.

Storage Modules won't work in a Medical Droid, in fact they don't work in any humanoid droid.

My best medical droid is a base R2 Unit, with Level 6 Medical Module, Level 6 Item Storage, Food/Chem Crafting and they sell well, on average 2 to 3 a week at 45K.

MSE Storage droids also sell well, can do them on the bazarre at 6K a pop.

Harvester R3 droids (6 Harvesting modules in an advanced R3 droid) sell ok, but not too fast.

Of course, there is always the Bounty Hunter Droids (Arakyds and Seekers) not a massive profit on these, but they can turn over quite well, and a factory run of each (300 on average) keeps me going for a good while.

Combat droids (R3 and Probot) sell ok, but nothing amazing, so I don;t sell them that often unless its a custom order.

Apart form that, welcome to the DE club, we are a hardy bunch!

That is only partially true now. The surgical chassis is the only droid that the storage module doesn't work in. It works in all the other droids now.

For making a few credits and to make your presence know, keep a vendor filled with BH Probe and seeker droids. BH's always need these and it will get people use to coming to your shop, especialyl if you keep it filled. Customer love a dependable vendor. Make the best droids you can and sell them for what there worth as you start the hunt for the specific and high OQ stuff you will need. This will also start the process of establishing clientele. Todays noob brawler might be a scout someday looking for a good harvest droid.

My best advice is to first just mess around making droids. Don't worry if you muck up. You can learn a lot by just doing it. See what you can make, see what is good, see what you need to improve a lot on.

Start looking around other Droid Vendors, don't feel bad about it. This will give you an idea of what stats are possible on your server, that way you know what to do to improve. Also look at prices. Your going to see a wide variety of Droids and Prices across the server. Compare quality to price, and see where your droids fit in.

I would be cautious about going public right away. First, you want to be ready to field any questions they may toss. As a DE, your goal isn't a one time sale, it's to build a customer for life, you want them to be confident in you. You also probably don't want to publically sell droids until you know how good your droids are.

If you are credit poor, you can sell some stuff like the BH droids as suggested and other droids where quality doesn't matter, like Med. However, make sure your putting everything together right, and hitting the max Med or Storage capability.

Above all else, have fun.

Really! Fantastic news, thanks for pointing this out, means I can switch back to my original Idea and start making LE Repair droids with storage and crafting units again! YAY!
