You may or may not have already realized this, but the 5 minute starship times hurt sales on these even more. We both know that these are not very good sellers, but now that ship waits are only 5 minutes, they are even less useful.
Just something for you to mention. I know we have talked about these a lot of times already, and no love is probably coming soon. Even if they just remove the crafting tool requirement, it would be better.

I would love if they could give wp's... say 1 or 2 wp's to a random 50% or better concentration of 1 resource that would be cool... would be even better if we could pick what resource, but i'm sure that'd be far too much to ask for.. heheh

heh, forget it. These will still suck whenSWG 2 comes out five years from now.

I would usually say that what they ought to do is give the stats for every single resource of the specified type for the planet. But with swgcraft.com's database in place, even that information is almost completely useless in practice.
Given that, the droids need to provide something that swgcraft.com can't provide if it is ever going to be useful. In my mind, thatwould be some sort of waypoint (or just coordinates in the email) that give a hint of where to start looking for one or more of the resources (let them sample the whole planet with a course resolution of like 20% concentration and2kmand then provide the coordinates for a wp that has the best concentration given those parameters (so the coordinates would be within +/-2km of some concentration that is within +/-20% of the highest concentration on the planet), or something like that). The droids certainly take long enough to have extracted that kind of information.

I'd also say, if they actually do make the things better, they ought to make them require some component that can only be crafted by an artisan who has surveying 4. /shrug

Well if were going to go here. Make it so that you get back more information the higher in surveying you get. Master Artisans get decent location waypoint info.

I'm fine with that. I seriously doubt anything is coming on this one. I expect that anything more than what it does now (aside from lowering the delay which really isn't going to help there usefulness, IMO), is a lot of work.

Duly noted, Straker.
Right now, there's a lot of stuff that'll take priority over the Survey droids. It's something we can revisit when the dust settles some...

I sincerely doubt they will EVEN give *these* droids the ability to report a waypoint. But I do expect them to let us add in an optional module that allows the droid to report on the Qualities of all the resources it reports on. Its pretty basic. Make the droid even harder to make! I'm fine with that. Look, players pay millions of credits for a single stupid gun....dont you think the crafters and miners will pay tomake their operation more efficient? The Survey/Sample thing is pretty dumb anyway. I'm fine with running around finding a decent location to drop, but the sample crap gets old real fast. Eventually I would expect them to put something in game that *would* allow for the remote density report, but that should be at the same time they bring back the Miner profession.

Ohh I know, I wasn't really expecting anything soon. I was just pointing out that the 5 minute shuttle time hurts them even more, even though I think it is good for the game.

Didn't Imention or say somethingabout this a while back?
But yeah... Sales are practically flat-line on this...
