Obviously there is some thought behind this latest little stunt (patch) by the development team, and I think I figured it out.
They were and are fully and completly aware of the ramifictions on the Jedi profession with this latest change. They know it's not fun, they just don't care, in fact, they like that. Why? Because it means you won't be playing your Jedi, maybe you'll cancel your account, but no sweat, there are 20 people in the village right now, waiting to take your place.
Ultimately, they know that as more and more current Jedi cease to play, Bounty Hunters will get bored and people will start to drop that profession too, until we reach an equilibrium between the number of active Jedi and the number of active Bounty Hunters. This is what they want and they'll get it too. That's their plan, attrition.
We can moan, piss b*tch and flame until we're blue in the face, they developers think they've found a viable solution to their problem, and they aren't really concerned with our problem. The only recourse players have are to cancel their account, and that will never happend in large enough numbers to warrant a change from the development team. They, by all accounts, knew very well what reaction we would have to this latest patch, again, they don't care. They know about the many bugs related to the profession (well, some do, some don't, see comment re: Tiggs), again, they don't care. They have zero interest in making Jedi fun, in fact, quite the opposite.
In conclusion, it's frustrating and it makes me want to tell everyone involved with this game to suck an egg. I feel cheated and lied too by the development team, and the only thing I can do is quit, which I did by the way, but I digress. The point is, while writing up a post filled with emotion is a waste of your time. Sure, someone might read it, but will it go any good? No. If the community's uproar was of any concern to the development team, we would have heard something other than Tigg reurgitating "It's working as intended, if not please /bug it.".
On that note, it's almost time to go home, and I've got a brandspanking new copy of Battlefront sitting in my briefcase.
May the force be with you.
