I could be waaay off here, but all I ever seem to see is a very restricted set of droids.

Am I missing something or are there really this few droid chassis?

I would at least have expected to see a couple more of the droid types from the Jawa scene in A New Hope, and maybe even Droidekka, since the grpahics are already in game.

Restricted? There are 13 different droid "looks", and each one has two types... for a grand total of 26 different droid frames to work with. Add in the insane number of droid modules we have available and we get way too many layouts.

The ADV frames look exactly the same as the base droids.

So no doubling the numbers.

There are 13 frames and only half are worth a damn.

I wouldn't say that, I sell a good number of treadwell's, R5's, and other droids that are probably in the "other half". People love them because they're different (different being not an R3), they're cheap, and they still make great crafting/storage or storage/medical or whatever 2-module combo.

I think more what Knocky was getting at was the Advanced over regular. And I have to agree. I rarely, if ever, sell a droid that isn't the Advanced model, and not because I don't offer the customer an informed choice but because they want the Advanced even if it does cost a little more.

Going back to the original post though.

It's not that there aren't several models available (as you've seen 13 different kinds), but alot of them have little use. A droid with 1 module available is rarely sold. 2 modules, sometimes but still rare. 3 modules occasionally, but still rare. If people aren't buying them, you won't see them out and about. One of our Master chassis (the Binary Load Lifter Adv) while you seethemrunning around NPC towns you rarely if ever see it in actual PC use because it simply can't hold as much as it aught to (the thing is a monster... it holds the same number of modules an R4 does (3), is not combat capable, and it takes rediculous resources / components vs it's payload making it cost-prohibitive).
