Hi everyone,

I'm very pleased to say that earlier today I finally completed the final step of my long journey and gained the title of Master Droid Engineer.

From the very first day I stepped off of the shuttle in Nashal and into this brave new world of Star Wars Galaxies almost seven and a half months ago I knew I wanted to be a Droid Engineer. I quickly discovered that I disliked grinding with a passion so I took it slowly and built up a business, taking the seemingly radical approach of learning my profession by building and selling droids.

I did not sell much at first, but sales slowly picked up and these days I can count on selling maybe 10-20 droids per week. Not bad for what until now has been a non-Master on what is probably the least populated planet in the least populated galaxy. It just goes to prove that you can do it without grinding.

I wanted to say thanks to all of the old hands (and newer hands) who have kept on top of all things Droid. Those of you who have investigated, tracked, reported and collated bugs have saved me many hours of head-scratching and wasted droids. Those of you who tinkered with, examined and formulated formulae for the new modules from the two droid publishes have helped me plan my business and keep my customers well informed. And finally a thankyou to TheRealTK421 for all that he has done (and will do - don't think you can slack off now just 'cause you've let us know you intend to step down as a correspondent soon ) in keeping Droids at the forefront of the DEVs minds.

I said I have a question and here it is. Since it took me so long to Master my profession I was able to collect large quantities of best-of-server or rare resources for Master-level items. About 2.5 million units in fact. When I get some factories up and running, what on Talus should I make factory runs of first?

congrats man, I know all about the non-grinding path (always have refused to grind). As far as your question, The only thing I usually build in any quantity is detonation droids, I prefer to do the rest on a custom order basis (thats just me though, everyone has to decide what kind of business is best for them).

Aside from the great suggestions of Det Droids, a few other things you can concider.

First, burn crap resources making EMM's, EGP's, andDroid Brains in mass quantity (though Droid Brains you won't need nearly as many of). Then make yourself a few crates of all the highest experimented modules (using your good resources), and non-quality components you can make (with more non-quality resources - don't forget small things like Control Units and regular Motive Systems).

This will set you up for any new business orders you get. After a while, you'll learn what you go through quickly (Advanced Droid Brains come to mind). Once you get a feel for what sells, you can start runs on chassis (most likely R3's) and the components you use the most.

Also, don't forget the Droid Repair Kits, Reconstruction Kits, and Customization Kits.... and batteries. Those will sell as well, especially the more high-end combat droids you sell (hint -include one battery and one customization kit with every non-combat order, and add a Repair D and Reconstruction (any type) for combat droids. With good ones, customers will be coming back to you as soon as they're low... repeat business is good)

I hope this helps ya out some.

Reconstruction kits wont be of much help for the customer as only a DE can use them.

The rest are all very good ideas

This is a list of what I suggest that you stock up. It is taken from the Droid Engineer 101 guide.

Yes, make sure you're making advanced droid brains. Nothing is a bigger pain in the rear than when you're trying to make an advanced R3, and you run out of advanced droid brain crates. Especially when you're also out of EMM/EGPMs.

Don't forget storage and medical droids. Lidium ore is your friend. You won't much and it doesn't have to be good quility.
