Thread: When did the make it so medical modules require battery power to function?

It's true. Just last night, my combat alt pulled out her medical droid to heal herself and was informed thatshe needed to be in a medical center to heal wounds. I cursed the droid and the game saying, "the medical droid is right in front of me!" Was so used to it not needing batteries that it didn't occur to me for a while to check for that.

But then I noticed the zero battery charge and decided to charge up the droid. And the medical modules started working again!

Was this change slipped in stealthfully without telling any of us? Or was I just sleeping when it happenned and didn't notice?

Crafting stations still seem to function without a battery charge though.

Medical has always required battery power (even way back in the day when droids recharged in the datapad and most people didn't even know about batteries and recharging)

really? I've never charged this medical droid before, and I've sometimes left it standing in the starport for 4 to 5 hours at a time. Infact I've left it standing in the starportfor multiple hours a great many times. This is very puzzling.

Since I'm a DE, when I'm ziping by the Coronet starport, I always stop and pull out my Power Droid and recharge any droids that need it. Usually it's docs who are buffing. Medical use has always required power for as long as I've known.

Did you happen to cross a server boundry? If so, and your droid wasn't stored, it will no longer consume batteries, even if you return to it. You have to store it again, recall, and then it will begin to drain its charge.

Perhaps some kind soul came by with their power droid and powered up your medbot? I know I do that quite often on my server as well as offer paint jobs.. heheh

As for the crafting station droids, maybe i'm just crazy, but I really find that i have a lot more fails when the power on mine is low. Charge it up, and I won't see a fail for a while.

I do the same thing Zorkk . Even get a discount once in a great while for it.

I've noticed that as well. It start to go down hill right about 30% battery power. I can almost always tell when it's hit 30% without having checked previously. I start to get less than great assemblies or failed experiments, I check the droid and bingo. 30%. I wonder if there's actually anything to that...

TK, is there anything to droid crafting stations functioning less efficiently when a droid runs low on / our of power?
