Reading through some of the posts here, it seems like I'm selling my droids for a lot less than I possibly could be. To me, I think I'm selling for fair prices, but again, I'm not exactly sure what everything goes for on the market here.
I'm not too advanced in my Droid Engineering levels, but I was wondering for some advice on what I could charge for what I can make. I'm pretty much looking for an average price per droid model, and an average price per module. Of course, I would like to be able to charge my own prices, but I would like to get an idea how much this stuff goes for. Basically right now, I'm selling any droid model with any combination of modules for about 3 - 4k.Here's what I got (I think it's everything, but I could be missing something):
Droid Models:
MSE
MSE Advanced
R5
R5 Advanced
WED Treadwell
WED Treadwell Advanced
DZ70
DZ70 Advanced
R4
Power Droid
Droid Modules:
Armor Level 1
Item Storage Level 1
Data Storage Level 1
Medical Level 1
Structure Maintenance Level 1
Item Storage Level 2
Data Storage Level 2
Medical Level 2
Item Storage Level 3
Data Storage Level 3
Medical Level 3
Effects Module (Foam)
Effects Module (Avian)
Effects Module (Electric Fog)
Effects Module (Confetti)
Playback Module
Stimpack Dispensor Module
Creature Harvestor Module
Weapons, Droids, Generic Item Crafting Station

2. ctl+v/vendors/droids/travel - take notes
3. No offense - but rtfm. In the big faq at the top several links for pricing spreadsheets and even a price software program exist
Finally, don't forget pricing is not (only) about gouging as much as you can. Keep a record of what it really costs you each week to run your operation and then tally your sales. Adjust your unit prices accordingly. Generally, if you sell low you do volume. If you sell high you do profit. Meddle with your profit after costs to the level where droids are not flying off your vendors lest you burn out but not so high that you can't actually sell one. Your current pricing model of 3-4k per droid is towards the cheaper end of the scale.

You are way way selling to cheap.
Especially stuff like your crafting stations, and entertainer droids, those are as good as they can be made.
Your lower level stuff you can sell cheaper, but your still selling to cheap.
Here is a thread I made on the boards here about pricing.

I'm really of the opinion that the undead fish price calculator is waaaaay cheap.... maybe even designed before pubs 7 and 8 where droids were improved. Made from before there were buffs, and 30K missions....(before my time, so i couldn't say)
43K for a harvesting droid... 30K for a medical droid.... yet 73K for a bomb droid? that's makes no sense. Why charge a low price for a non-decay, non-consumable droid, and 73K for a oneshot droid?!? something smells..... fishy....
I haven't checked out any of the pricing 'spreadsheets' but from what I can tell, their based on cpu... good for finding your 'cost' but not for determining a price your server can handle...
I dunno about your server Nell, but here's the price guide i use onmy server, Flurry
MSE 20K
MSE ADV 30K
DZ70 25K
DZ70 ADV 35K
WED 30K
WED ADV 40K
R5 45k
R5 ADV 55k
R4 50k
R4 ADV 60k
Power 70K
I really like ATK entertainers so i'll often give them their droids for 1/2 of my normal price. I rarely have anyone tell me my prices are too high at these levels.... I get the impression from many of my customers they're expecting to pay more (dunno where they would get that idea tho). I have many ppl ask me how much something is, and if they don't have enough, tell me their goin to save up.... and more often than not, I hear back from them in a day or two with the money in hand for their droid....
Now, given what you can create, your best bet IMHO would be to go for selling entertainer droids.... you have a good variety of effects modules, can even get the music playback (have an ent create you some dual wave sythesizers, or a schematic for some with your own resources).
Obviously, if your still selling on the bazaar, your goin to have some troubles with pricing, but I personally would sell MSE droids with combinations of the modules you can make (not harvest modules tho) for 6K a peice, and make sure I include in the description my name, and for them to email me if they have any other questions or droid needs. Make sure your name, or some sort of trademark is on the deed so they know who they're getting it from.
I hope you find this helpful
If I may, what server are you on?? Do you know if there's many active DE's? When i first got on flurry, I checked out the various DE vendors, and more often that not they were empty.. if they weren't empty they had 1 style of factory produced droid on them low prices..... so it basically seemed to me like i had a free reign to do what i wanted.
There's another thread around here with my idea of 'regular' stock... generic droids that have the most use without actual customization.... I make sure to have some of each stocked. I've since gone back to a number of the DE vendors i first checked out, and I dunno if I've made an impact, but many of those vendors now offer other models of droids (factory run tho
) and the SAME low prices.... ARGH!!!
I "ARGH" because I have no combat class to support me... I make droids for a living in this game, unlike a number of the DE's i know who subsidize their crafter with a combat character.... personally, I don't think that's fair, but i'm not going to complain about it... just work harder to find the customers and let themknow they can always msg me for a droid, and they'll have it delivered that same day.

I also think the fish calculator is cheap as well.
I like my 10-20k for chasis (with some exceptions like Power and BLL) and 10k per module. Add a little, take off a little, depending on the droid, you get a fair amount. 99.9% of my customers love my prices.
I don't have a spreadsheet, but it does talk about it in my thread.

I liked the advice about changing the price around to accomidate the longevity of the droid. There was a lot of good advice posted that I'll take into consideration.
I actually have Musician skills myself, so I have no problem with the dual wave synthesizers. I can make all of the entertainer droids all on my own. So there's no problem there.
As far as server, I am Marr'Taan LeBeau on Radiant server. I do leave a trademark on my deeds: "LeBeau Droids: (Droid Name Here)", and in the description, I always put "Crafted by Marr'Taan LeBeau for LeBeau Droids". I don't know any active DE's tho. I have seen a couple here and there, but not many at all.
After thinking about it, I am definatley starting to agree a bit more with the higher prices. For one, my prices are so low, because that's what I was able to get away with back in the day when droids have next to no use. I left for a few months, came back and we have some purpose, and I'm sticking with the same low prices. But with me not having Master Artisan to get the GP Modules, or Architect for the Power Cores, that will make certain droids harder for me to make, and in order to better support that, I need to sell them for more. I did however tend to agree with a lot of the prices that the undead fish site gave, but that's just me in my not as experienced ways. I'd probably start off with something around that, and if I see how that works out, I can adjust my prices accordingly.
Thanks again for the info you've supplied me with Zorkk. I will definatley keep it all in mind when I'm selling my droids. Thanks to everyone else that posted their advice, also.
