While I'm holding out on disecting the utility modules, I wanted to give a bit of attention to the real feature of this patch - forget merchant droids and scout modules, Combat droids have finally been made useful.
If you are looking for a CL-50 Droideka to solo the Corvette, you aren't going to get it - but here's a comparison between my pre-nerf Probot and the one I made today :
Prenerf - 3152 HAM, 127-135dmg, 1.5 speed
Today - 3200 HAM, 180-190dmg, .76 speed
Yes, the "old" armor system was still better, but these droids deal power that our slowly becoming mythical pre-nerf bots couldn't dream of.
The Prenerf Probot did about 90dps (damage per second) - the new Probot does 250dps!
Although our Droid Repair Kits don't make up for the bad armor situation, at the very least Prenerf bots (which were retroactively affected by the armor nerf) today became offically obsolete.
My R3's look great too - 4400+ HAM, 170dmg, 1.52sp.
I've sold almost 100 already today, which is why this is brief- I have customers waiting - but while everyone is talking about all these utility modules, I think a lot of people are missing the unsung savoir of this patch.
People are REALLY liking these droids. They thought the publish 7 combat droids were "okay", but these are really stellar for groups who organize their droid use (with new auto-repair/etc.), for casual tanking, getting you out of a tough situation, or just sitting back and adding the equivalent of another player's worth of damage to your bang.
While in retrospect I wish that they had just nerfed our armor long ago instead of making us go through nine months of 800HAM 70dmg trash cans...
Color me happy with combat droids.

Oh, BTW, anyone know if the stimpack module with med 6 module work in any chassy? or just the Surgical droids?

I made a fewR2s with 3 stim dispensers and med 110% and food/chem crafting. Had no complaints.

I took one of my pre-publish 8 BlastBot 550 probots out of the crate. It's combat rating is 549.
Before P8: 1089 HAM, 153-162 damage.
Post P8: 3168 HAM, 181-191 damage.
Me like.
To hit and speed were unchanged.
Got my factories making Stimpack dispensor modules, but I have to work tomorrow so no real playtime until 10 tomorrow night.

I just watched my R3 solo a Male Planes Tusk Cat and have over 50% health left. It has 3 101cr combat modules and 3 20rate auto-repair modules. 120-127 attack and heals self 60HAM per 10 seconds while in combat. 4455HAM helps too.
Sweet little droid guard for me cause I have no combat skills.

Rancor - 420-550 damge, 2.0 speed. (242.5 dps)
Probot - 180-190 damage, .76 speed. (243.4 dps)
...Eh? Time to get me a droid. I'm really not missing CH.

The droid doesn't actually shoot that fast. Once per second maybe, unless my brain is speeding up when playing.

Hear! Hear!
This patch rocked all around...it was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered, and I could personally care less about CL20+ combat droids ATM...I am perfectly happy and content...
