Thread: INCREASED Experimentation Failures Since Patch
Last night i was trying to experiment on harvester modules. I was standing just outside a research city and attepted to experiment.
EVERY time the first experimentation attempt would be GOOD SUCCESS, and the next would be great. I threw out each item as i dont bother unless its perfect success all the way.
I did this about 8 times and each time it was good success. I walked back into my city (research center) and finally got my great successes back.
I also noticed this today while crafting final droid deeds. I was getting ALOT of good or moderate successes while experimenting on droid HAMS and it became quite frustrating. Im at master level with maxed out droid assembly due to some SEA's and before the patch i was RARELY RARELY RARELY getting anything less than great successes.
Now this could have just been a string of coincidences spanning over a 2 day period occuring right after a large patch(sarcastic). But it could also be something to watch out for? Am i alone on this?
This was happening to me after I went up on the Corvette and cloned 5 or 6 times, and the decay on my crafting tools took a good hit. Once I made new tools my success/failure rates went back to normal.
Try making new tools and see if it helps at all. The rating in the /examine window doesn't change but I'm now convinced that it's actually being modified by the current decay condition of the tool (which also doesn't appear in the /examine window).
You may be right. I crit failed a fully modulated R3 combat droid... OUCH. AND I was buffed with DE food and buffed clothes.
Makes our profession a little more risky!

I crit failed my first probot during final assembly stage, it was a bummer. I was also getting moderate success on combat modules until I started experimenting no more that 2 blocks at a time, then I went back to great successes..
LOL - last night I showed up at the starport just as the ship was leaving (*curses*). So I asked if anyone needed a droid. After a few minutes I'd talked someone in to a Probot with 2 combat modules and a creature harvesting module.
When I started building the components, the shuttle was 5 minutes 30 seconds away from landing. I've never built a droid so fast in my life. I had really good luck on the combat modules (great successes twice in a row) and the harvesting module, and didn't have to make a second pass at any of them. Just as the shuttle was landing I clicked the "Assemble" button for the final combine... and it crit failed on me. Ouch.
Fortunately my customer didn't have anywhere to be and said he'd wait for the next transport so I could try again. It took me the entire 10 minutes this time, because I had less luck with the combat modules and had to try the harvesting modules a few times before I got a decent rating. Just as the shuttle was landing I clicked the "Assemble" button for the final combine... and it worked. ![]()
This case was just dumb luck, but I still highly reccomend that you build or buy new crafting tools and see if it has an effect on your success rate.
