There's a link to one in the web-page in my sig.

Ackis,

On the page referenced in your sig, i found a pricing program. While this is nice and provides a decent amount of help in determining prices of various components that go into creating a droid, I'm afraid it does not help in determining the exact number of resources needed to create that droid.

Maybe i'm missing something, but I went through all the links on that page and failed to find something meeting those requirements.

I'm looking for (and maybe it doesn't exist) a tool which will help me determine what resources and in what quantity i need to create a droid of a specific configuration.

I wandered over to SWGcraft.com and found fooman's weaponsmith sheet. Although, extremely cluttered and very hard to navigate through, i found that it is pretty close to what i'm looking for. From the looks of things, there is some work done to adapt it to DE's but it appears as though that effort kind of fell by the wayside.

Maybe i'll take that on as a little project and adapt that excel spreadsheet to work for DE's.

I was talking about this link: http://www.geocities.com/sweet_nsanity/droidcashreg.zip
which is wrong on my page (my bad).

I think that's the wrong thing you're after also.

I've been perusing all the various tools and spreadsheets out there, and was wondering this:

Is there a tool out there that will help me determine the quantity and type of resources i need to create a specific droid with various modules?

If i had an R3 Advanced chassis with X amount of modules in it, I'd like to be able to enter that in somewhere, and hit a button to determine exactly what resources i need and in what quantity.

Anything like this exist? Do i need to re-install Visual C++?

Hello, well, the adaptation of my weaponsmith tool to droidsmith is definitively on its way.
You may call it cluttered, but I call it complete!

Anyhow, the work on that was being done by other swgcraft.com members, but, as I've just picked up the profession, I will be doing the work.

One reason I couldn't do it myself (well until now) is that not being in the profession makes it very hard to verify the numbers in game.

So, maybee this will do exactly what your looking for, so check the droidsmith board at www.swgcraft.com (give me a couple of weeks or so, maybee less depending on my ingame droidsmith progress) to have something put up there.

i will be updating the program to refelct new modules and i will add the resource request also.. hopefully ill have something viable by this weekend. there was an old spreadsheet that was going around but it seemed to double prices and i couldnt narrow down the bug that did it so i diddnt bother updating it also

Actually I have already been working on converting Fooman's spreadsheet for my own use and have it 95% complete. Its at the point where it all works now so Ive been lazy in getting the last 5% done since I dont really care if it looks pretty for myself. Out of respect for Fooman and since he wrote the thing to begin with, I havent offered it to the public, but once he gets his version out there, I can promise you it will be well worth it. I have loved using it.

Not familiar with Open Office but this is definately an Excel Creature so if you have problems with them in the past I would expect to for sure with this one.

Thanks for the great responses.

And to fooman, i meant no disrespect to your excel tool. It's quite hard to capture every nuance of some of these crafting professions without having someone who sees it for the first time to be a little overwhelmed. My apologies if my remarks came off like i didn't appreciate your work. It's truely a remarkable tool.

Over the past couple days, i've been keeping my factories humming along manufacturing components and such for various runs. A couple guildmates have been chomping at the bit for a few droids recently, and as anyone who's been a DE for a while knows it can be quite a tangled web of nested subcomponents and factory crated EMM/EGP's. By no means am i complaining. DE is such a fun profession as there's so many different things you can do with the profession. It's just hard sometimes to get a grasp on what you need to get that specific custom order done.

If i could make a request for those of you working on tools, I think it would be extremely useful if the user could basically customize thier droid, much like they can do at undead fish (http://www.undeadfish.com/droids.php) only instead of quoting you a price, you'd get a resource count (maybe even a subcomponent section detailing what you'd need to create various modules...) that you could then use to go off and create your custom droid.

Again, thanks for the posts,
