The subject makes it pretty clear. Im trying to set upa patrol for my droid (and perhaps work out clever uses for it) but can't quite get it right. For testing I made 4 waypoints around the corners of my house and the idea is just to get the droid to go on a looping patrol around it. I told the droid to stay, activated the first waypoint, gave the command for getting that waypoint, got the acknowledgement message. I repeated this for the other three points and gave the patrol command. The droid pauses a long moment, then wanders over and stops in the middle of my body... clearly not what I wanted.

A step by step tutorial would be nice from someone who knows... an idea post is following this, about expanding patrol options.

walk someplace with 50 m from the droid and say what ever you programmed get patrol point to be. repeat that up to 9 time and then have it patrol it will go from point to point to point untill it runs outta juice.

That isnt different from what I tried. The droid just stops right in the middle of me. Once I got him to sort of jitter back and forth near one of the patrol points.

that's the part that seems off to me. what do you mean exactly when you say "activated the first waypoint" and then "gave the command for getting that waypoint"? other than the initial programming, it should only be a one step process. you say your "get patrol point" command and that point is stored. you walk to a new location, issue the command again, and a new point is stored.

You don't need to tell your droid to stay. The waypoint it gets is based on the location of your body, not it's body.

Ahh thats it. I assumed waypoint meant an actual waypoint, silly me for thinking something in this game was logical. :> Thanks for the help. Got him patrolling.
