Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: Reaching Novice DE
This prolly has been asked a billion times, but I'm at work and don't have time to scan the archives. What's the best item to craft to reach Novice DE?
Grind powerups. As far as I can tell, they have the best resource:XP ratio.
I haven't reached Novice DE yet, but that's how I'm doing it. Don't bother with experimenting or anything like that. Just build them, and use the practice mode for a small xpbonus. Don't expect to be able to go from Engineering IV to Novice DE in less than a few game sessions.
Droid, Weapon, General Crafting Tool
Lots of them. They take only a couple types of resources, so set up 4 crafting tools and get crackin'. Practice mode4tehwin!!1
I just did bone armor. It cost more, but the 500 XP per vs the 30 XP for power ups makes a difference in my opinion.
Just wait to the dreaded 336 MSE. Moooaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
I did Wood Staff's since I found a nice wood resource. I also did Chemical Survey Devices when I found a good metal resource. Just made Novice DE last night. So 336 MSE's to the next level. Oh boy what fun. 316 to go.
Hey, if you practice its only 327 MSE's!
If you have enough bone and hide, bone armor chestplates are the way to go. Practice the last combine and you get ~650 exp for the segments, panels, and armor combined.
If you get Domestic I, you can make Plain Robes using Fiberplast only.
It works out to 70exp per and it goes faster than anything else I've done. (Plus, you can clear up to Master Artisan too!)
The grind is a pain, but feel for the highest xp requirement, Architects!
