There are no droid shops that can make 40 percent armor probot droids on our server at this time, so I want to hurry up and get to it. Whats that fastest way of doing this using the least amount of artisan skills? First im making treats to get my engineer up, hopefully I can feed those to pet. Im not sure what I should get survey up to? I am buying a factory and 2 wind, 8 mineral harvesters. After I get up to novice DE, im not sure what to do. Are the blue prints provided, and I just set my harversters to the recourses I need? I am a little confussed what to do next. Please guide me to square one.

After reading this, I'm not sure whether to smile or cry....you make it sound so easy..lol.

My way of doing it was

  1. crafting tools to engineering 4 (and you need to get surveying 4 while you're at it in my opinion)

  2. mouse droids to blueprints 1

  3. DZ70 droids to blueprints 2(of course, that's back when you got a slight bonus for using your own components in a droid..so I was, of course, crafting all the motive systems and sensor packages by hand....I still think this is the best way to go though)

  4. Advanced droid frame units to master DE

I personally still maintain that armor modules are best until you reach advanced frame units.

Why? Because they have the best ratio of exp to resources. Yes you end up making more of the little things, but you spend less money and resources getting through....worked very well for me.

well I was going to rebut against the armor modules in favor of the MSEs for xp, but once I redid the math I realized I was wrong. The only difference is you have to do 3 armor modules for every 2 MSEs (roughly). for some reason my original math must have bee3n wrong sice I started by doing armor then switched over to the MSEs... d'oh!

Well there is the other slight problem that to make what you want you will either need heavy access to a master artisan or become a MA yourself. Also without strong access to master artisan parts you will find yourself unable to make most high level droids and droid components.

If your main goal is for a pet and you really otherwise do not seem to be to interested in droid engineer in general you should think about going imperial and getting an at st. You can get an at st in FAR less time than it would take to get master DE.

Bigger question is...

Why?

Do you have a clue what you are getting into before this class is fixed? You could powerlevel in less time to a lot more useful classes right now

Jonas, I concur. Armor modules first ... raise tree to get Weapon crafting stations next, make those and raise blueprint to make advanced frames .. make those to master. May not be the best resource freindly but definitely the fastest.

True, but we rely on the fact that a lot of people learn of their intended craft before starting on training. Most people look at our beloved disaster area of a profession and head in the opposite direction so we can get to it in peace with little competitionand when things do get fixed, (hope hope hope hope,) we're on top ready to reap the rewards of our toil.

Warning, intrepid engineer, Warning!

Trying to power level up to droid engineer is not a good thing to do, IMHO. I think Zina and Ramdor (two master DE's with acrid on my server) both got there through 100% factory XP when that was going on. Please correct Zina or Ramdor if this is not the case as I do not want to take away from your hard work.

First off, you need MEGA-RESOURCES to power level, as well as a lot of time. Making hundreds and hundreds (literally) of mse's, armor, or dz70's, then adv. frames is BORING, TIME-CONSUMING, and EXPENSIVE. You think 8 harvesters can keep up with your material needs if you are straight grinding? They can't for me. 1 adv. droid frame (the grinder once you get it, which will be painful even to get to), is 150 steel and 70 fiberplast. I can probably make at least 10 per minute with multiple tools, which means if I grind for one hour on them I go through 10 frames/min * 60 min/hour * 220 resources/frame == 132,000 resources in _one hour_. How much XP is this: 462 xp/frame * 600 frames/hour == 277,200 xp. A lot, right? Not really. The lowest skills take 48,000, so this gets you those four and one second level skill.

Take my advice: enjoy being a droid engineer through all the levels (except for maybe grinding mousers), build your customer base as you grow in skill. It will be much more fun.

Cheers!

Hey, thanks for all the tips. I think droids will be very popular because to get up to the faction levels needed to get to an AT-St leaves you with a ton of credits. And I have already got all Ubese armor, and the best weapons. I think people will blow a lot of credits on droids np. Plus there simply is no place to buy good ones on our server. The main reason if for our PA to have a nice little droid shop. Thanks again for all the help. Oberon.

I think power lvling on droid engineering is the only way to go...at least till you get tier 3 in alot of your skills.

There simply is not enough business at the really low lvls to get you threw the profession without grinding....how many people will actually buy a mouse droid at this point in the game? ( well actually thats a lie I make a nice little profit on adv mouse droids with 2 lvl 4 item storage modules).

Yes it will take huge amounts of resources, when I didit Iwas using easly 70k steel and 30kish fiberplast everyday on adv droid frames. The only reason i can do that was because my guild worked together, first topull up a Master Architech account and funded the harvesters opertaion costs with mission money.

My suggestion if your doing it alone is not to go trust the small harvesters, get the large ones. A fusion gen power 2 deep crust chem extractors and and maybe 4 large harcesters should leave you enough for a small house lot and a factory lot....you may still need to buy some extra power or look into getting another fusion (and then you can sell your extra power, fusion is they way to go also guys...its the SAME maintance as wind or solar power...only more capicity). If you get all those down on 90%+ spots and spend the rest of the day just doing combat missions or faction missions for moeny you could easily grind away the resources they make in about an hour and a half. Get a skill tree or two a night.
